**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

The opposite interface makes it little confusing but at the same time it make it more interesting though.
Rewire function works good

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

I might be the only one who's facing this issue but it got freeze sometimes and get re-open.
All other things are good.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allie W. | Internship Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

I have loved getting to know the application better in order to try and record my own music. It has a lot fo great built in sounds and the interface is great for mixing my songs.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

It is very hard to understand at first and there are many things that can go wrong. I once recorded a song using the wrong rate for sounds waves and I had to rerecord the entire thing after 2 hours of work already :/

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has been nice to create different things for my students to use, even simple recordings for class needs like telling the students what to do...I have just loved using this with my students to be creative, too.

  ### 3. Effective But Buggy!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel S. | DJ/Music Producer, Instructor at Icon Collective, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

I like just how well the software works in terms of workflow, the audio devices, and even using Operator can yield some beautiful productions! A must-have!

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

Although it is easy/practical to use, some of the bugs in it have never been fixed. From the infamous pitch bend bug to just randomly crashing, it needs work!

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

Try another DAW first, this one is super buggy and can ruin your projects!

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I produce the quickest in this DAW, and it's more common to use when collaborating with other producers. As a producer of Dubstep, this software is perfect!

in new version I don't like how audio clips look and shortcut for automation

With ableton I am able to convert my ideas into song very quickly and very easy to use interface

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Ableton DAw is very easy to use as well it provides wide range of great build in presets and instruments. And with a bit of learning you have the freedom to create your own favourite instrument presets or mastering rack. And you can simply use it even without a gear recording notes straight from your computer keyboard. I use it since 2008 ableton v.7 . The DAW is one that one beginner can easy learn to use fast and produce its own music.

Sound engine of Ableton i think needs bit of improvement.

The endless amount of possibilities: live performance, music production, sound design...

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

It is not as intuitive as other DAWs at first

  ### 7. Amazing DAW for Live Performance & EDM Production

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chance N. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Ableton has the best MIDI Controllers & they are all configured and mapped so using them is a breeze. The Ableton Push 2 is truly a game changer for any musician. Anyone who is looking to elevate their live performances or has an interest in producing EDM music should definitely invest

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The multiple View & Layout of the DAW can be hard to pick up right away & it does take awhile to really grasp everything

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to find inspiration for new music much easier using Ableton Live & The Push & the different midi controllers I use in Studio at the Excitable One Studio. I'd also recommend checking out the Trigger Finger Pro & the Impulse 49 for Midi controllers

  ### 8. Create the Content you want!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack M. | Sales Assistant, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Ableton Live is always customizable to the max and you're able to create a project that you truly are imagining. Having this program to create multi track projects can help you create something small, or a multi-tracked masterpiece. With a relatively easy interface, the more you practice with it the more you'll catch on real quick. This program allows you to truly customize your project with the use of several different plug-in features and tools-- as well as downloadable programs to truly create the sound you want.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The one thing I dislike would be the design and color schemes of the program-- and while it's fairly easy, I've used many programs that are much more user friendly right from the first usage

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

Practice makes perfect when navigating this system.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are being able to create audio clips for our marketing material that includes short clips for commercials, our commercial jingles, as well as our audio to our Drone Shots of our over twenty beautiful New home Construction Communities.

  ### 9. My Ableton Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Ableton live is essential for any music producer. It’s ease of use and quick syncing of Midi devices makes it unbelievably powerful.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

Ableton live is kind of bland to look at.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

Use it and use it often

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m solving problems within my music production by trying to find new ways to get the sound I’m wanting. I realize that Ableton live has endless possibilities.

  ### 10. Not very easy at the beginning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Completeness and cleanliness of the interface.
Completeness of the functions.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

It is not easy to start using Ableton if you come from other similar software.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I easily created bases and songs with a very modern sound.

  ### 11. Sloold internal processing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

The built in plugins mostly the effects like the delays, the drum racks, and modular capabilities like Max for Live

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The look. Mostly the fact colored regions only get colored on the top and not in the region waveform part. It’s hard to look at for long hours

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

If you want something with real power when it comes to editing audio for live performance my primary go to is ableton live!

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like to plan out how I’m going to live mix DJ sets by using the cross fader and the effects to lock in timing when transitioning between tracks while DJing at partys

  ### 12. Awesome But Advanced Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

There is so much you can do with this program. It's a great way to explore your musical ideas. There are sound packs to get you started, but you can also use your own samples.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

This program can crash sometimes, even on good computers. It's also expensive. As well, it takes a while for some people to learn. You may never fully master this program because there are so many features.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

It's fairly difficult for many people to learn on their own. It's recommended to learn from someone else or have them nearby for troubleshooting. As always, save frequently.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ableton can be used for soundtracks and other music.

  ### 13. great software for making electronic music.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas B. | Lube Technician, Automotive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2018

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

it has the capability to produce any type of electronic music you could come up with. it is impressive at track-based recording for solo artists. with this software you are able to queue up and play music as you see it which is why it is called live, but it is an advantage this software has over other competitors. there is a plethora of instruments and music effects to use, which makes it easy to create a unique sound. once you get the hang of the software the ease of use improves greatly and the ability to create music goes very fast and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

the price can be expensive for most average, new users. it is not very well capable for recording multiple musicians at one time. the learning curve is steep, it takes a lot of time to learn all of the features that ableton offers and in order to perfect these features you need to spend a lot of time learning how to work the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

Lots of help from youtube videos and other users on forums helped the learning curve. It can be a tricky software at first but the capabilities are vast.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in recording and selling my music. i've realized that the benefits to ableton are capability to produce music in ways i could not do with other music programs. it is a professional program, which makes its credibility very impressive and many other amateur to professional DJ's use this software.

  ### 14. My thoughts on Ableton Live

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2018

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Its a great audio software for creating beats from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The way it works is pretty weird to me, meaning in order to create a beat you need to record it by sections (hard to explain in writing). I come from using Pro Tools and Logic Pro, which work very differently.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting new sounds to create Music Beats.

  ### 15. tryied it with different music styles...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felice P. | Senior ICT Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

lot of in-the-box effects for composing/mixing music
good for newbies , good for experts

BEST for draw loop-based musical ideas quickly, not ideal to arrange time based ideas IMO

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

born with electronic music in mind, not a standard yet (nor in the future i think)
a nightmare with every update!

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

just a DAW, don't think about music style,
others better on the market,
reliability is an optional here.

What really ate is that Live seems not designed with usability in mind. That's strange for a Deutsch product.
Again, electronic producers would say that's the best. I agree with that.
Others will say is just another good DAW that is not simplyfing your workflows. Agree as well.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

part of m-audio bundle.
started my journey into computer based recording

  ### 16. Excellent For Many Things

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George P. | Owner, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

I use Ableton to make my radio show every week. The ease of access to my plugin database and that I can route my microphone into it with ease is a major plus. When I produce a song with vocals or if I am working on a remix project, I can change the speed of the vocals without affecting the pitch or quality!

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

I find it sometimes difficult to add an anchor point for my EQ or any automated effects I add and I wish the target zone for that was easier.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

If you're looking for something to create a prerecorded radio show in for radio use, this is an excellent choice! If has great music production options as well!

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

NA

  ### 17. Ableton Live is a great tool for in-the-box musical production, with live capabilities

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin W. | Recording Engineer, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

The fact that Ableton is meant to be implemented in both production and live situations makes it a very powerful tool. Compositions can be made with live situations in mind, or can be created with in-the-box recording as a goal instead. But whatever the primary need of the user, Ableton is a very useful tool. Used in combination with other audio workstations via Rewire, the possibilities and functions of the program grow.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The Ableton user interface is quite different from many other digital audio workstations, and from my experience, if the use did not learn Ableton as their first introduction to digital audio workstations, it is a bit harder to get used to the loop-based, small-sectioned units used to create and play music with Ableton.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

For electronic, DJ, or live playing of produced music, Ableton is nearly a must-have. Its versatility and live, clip-based functions make it a staple of modern electronic music performances. If live implementation from compositions is a goal, Ableton Live is a great way to begin that process.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ableton is a music industry standard for live electronic music implementation, and having the program in your arsenal will give ease to transferring projects into a live setting.

  ### 18. Audio Sampling/Editing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron S. | Assistant Venue Manager, Events Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Ableton is extremely versatile with a wide range of plugins that can expand your options in producing/editing audio.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

While it is intended to be far more advanced than most audio editing software, it requires a lot of time spent in tutorials and articles to find the information you need, even to accomplish some of the more basic tasks.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

It can be daunting to try to learn and incorporate a more advanced software, but Ableton is widely regarded as the best solution for audio sampling/recording/mixing for a reason. It is worth the time to dive in and learn its features - you won't find a better solution for the price.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Again, it is more advanced - it allows me to take the next step in producing something of greater quality, or dive a little deeper in the effects or quality of the recordings I am producing. It works well for music, voiceovers, sampling, etc.

  ### 19. Great for Getting Ideas Down, Not for Everything.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam W. | Owner, Media Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

I have used ableton live for years. It was my first choice of a DAW. The ability to create midi and audio ideas and queue them up is great. It feels forgiving and easy to adjust things on the fly. This is a great workflow for a lot of techniques.

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

It is great for many purposes but it doesn't fit every need outside of DJing, remixing, and dubstep like I would prefer.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

Ableton live is great! Don't expect to score a film in it but writing a song or remixing music is what it's for. You'll enjoy it and the community is very active and large.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create a variety of different options and play them back live.

  ### 20. Review of Ableton Live

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

The user interface was easy to navigate. At first glance, everything is located in a very intuitive location I found myself browsing through menus with little searching for any of the tools I needed. Multitrack audio editing is very simple, with quick tools to edit each individual track.

The equalizer is very impressive, with a multitude of quick presets, as well as the ability to drill down to each individual audio level

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

The built-in instruments and sounds were lackluster at best. You would be better off using vst plugins. There are many free vst options that are better than the built in instruments.

The midi track creator is a bit clunky and difficult to navigate. Using raw source inputs, such as a recorded instrument or voice, is a much better option.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

I would only use Ableton Live if working with spoken audio. The built in instruments are poor in quality, and the midi creation tools leave something to be desired

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm currently using this product to create a training module for users entering my field (database management). I'm using Ableton to record my voice to instruct others. Ableton has been great for editing vocal tracks. If all you are intending to use Ableton for is recording spoken word, it is a great product.

  ### 21. Best audio software for live set

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicola B. | Web Designer & Developer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

I love its simplicity. It's easy to build a track, using its native functionalities, such as the integrated timestretch

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

I think they could work to enhance compatibility with max/msp. I'm thinking about SPAT (for example), an entire library used in max to "move" sound "around" the speakers.

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

If you want a software to produce, record and arrange music, easy to use and live oriented, go with Live.

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm using Ableton Live to produce electronic music since its first release

  ### 22. create music with Ableton

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mauricio L. | Analista de marketing, Program Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

that I can edit any type of sound and transform it to taste

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

when I have many sounds playing, it slows down

**Recommendations to others considering Ableton Live:**

use the mastering racks for each sound

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

generating a positive mindset through music

  ### 23. Classic worktool for audio production

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Ableton Live?**

Use friendly graphic interface
Variety of samples & Kits
Easy to us with most third party hardware (sound cards, keyboards, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Ableton Live?**

Installation is laborious
No easy way to sync play for multiple tracks
Kit library could be easier to use

**What problems is Ableton Live solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Musical editing and creation
Keyboards and midi interface mixes to be used in musical productions
Musical wireframes for large composing projects
