The flexibility of creating models, structures, and reports is impressive. The way new items easily flow into the dimension structures and aggregations is remarkable. A static - or even a dynamic - Excel structure can hardly ensure this.

The implementation team was super supportive of all matters and came up with creative workarounds when needed. As of today, we have completely cut off our highly complex Excel-based planning and forecasting model and switched to Abacum, with the key stakeholders also on board.

Although the implementation team provides high-quality support, you also need to have at least a basic understanding of the system's logic and limitations to transform your old modeling structure to Abacum. Otherwise, you may have to rebuild certain parts again.

Abacum is an extremely powerful, easy-to-use, FP&A platform that can cover all of your budgeting and reporting needs. It has been very easy to implement and their support team has been top notch to work with. We have been able to integrate with all of our major platforms, pull in all necessary data, prepare dashboards (which they call "spaces") for leadership and department heads, and establish a much better budgeting process. We did an extensive search before choosing Abacum and are very pleased with our choice. Some of their competitors warned us about a portion of their team being based in Europe (we're a US-based org) but that has not been an issue at all. Our implementation team must work crazy hours because they've been very available to us despite the time difference. Also, we were warned about the need to write formulas in their modeling process but just as we were assured by our sales team, their formula syntax is very intuitive, easy to learn, and has not been a burden at all.
