There are three things that make Abacum THE tool to use: - Colaborative mode, so you can work colaborative with other members of your team or departments, for budgeting and forecasting it has saved us many time and errors. - Highly customizable. You can prepare all the metrics that you want to measure, it has no stiffness, so it wroks no matter your business model. - The support team is amazing. They are always keen to help you get the most out of the tool. What do you dislike about Abacum? The visualization part for tables and graphs needs to improve. What problems is Abacum solving and how is that benefiting you? The key point for me is that is helping us consolidate everyhting in one place, instead of have one hundred of different excel files. I mean... I do love excel, but budgeting, analyzing and reporting with/to other departments it is always messy when using only excel. That has drastically reduced errors (both user errors and versions errors...) and reduced the time we spend in the processes. The seamless integration with QBO, the ease of preparing reports with templates, sharing them with my different budget owners, and ensuring that each one only sees what they need to do and nothing else. Excel was not helpful when collecting inputs from budget owners across the company in an organized, permission-based way. The process is now streamlined, permissioned, and much more comfortable to use, especially for our non-Finance teammates, for whom Excel was a nightmare! 2. QBO was limiting our ability to perform management P&L allocations, and with Abacum this is now automated! 3. We've started implementing Abacum as of Q4 2022 and have since then fully migrated both our operational KPI reporting and financial reporting with the support of Abacum's implementation team. A huge benefit in my eyes was that part of the implementation was outsourced to the Abacum team. They very swiftly understood our business and delivered immediate results, via weekly touchpoints, including their product manager we had good exchanges and training on how to use the tool. It's a young company which means some features are still missing - we've had some challenges with HR integrations and staff planning which is currently solved via a workaround but we have regular interchange with team on building the permanent solution. Most of all, manual integration work (connecting various sources together), used to be done through several MS Excel exports. Literally saving days of work to update standard reports. It has also eased a lot of ad-hoc questions regarding (financial) reporting through self-service, each (mgmt.) team member has access to their own reporting space where they can find relevant insights. Lastly, we've used the tool to start regular reviews & forecasting updates, which given the manual nature of our reporting was previously extremely cumbersome. As with any new tool, there is a learning curve, but Abacum proved to be exceptionally fast, and their Academy provided a wealth of helpful tips. This tool offers us the opportunity to share results much faster than before, without the need for Excel. Managers can now access detailed information quickly, allowing them to easily identify discrepancies or errors in their department’s results, which is particularly important for budgeting purposes.
