AATAX is Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD ITSA) software that helps accountants, bookkeepers and tax agents prepare, review and submit quarterly updates and final declarations to HMRC for their sole trader and landlord clients. It is HMRC-recognised and uses HMRC's official MTD APIs. Under MTD for Income Tax, each client in scope needs four quarterly updates and a final declaration every year instead of one Self Assessment return. AATAX gives a practice one workspace for that work: HMRC authorisation, client records, quarterly obligations and a complete audit trail. The workflow has four steps: authorise, collect, review and submit. The practice links its HMRC Agent Services Account and sends each client an authorisation request through HMRC. Clients do not need to log in or learn any software. They reply to email reminders or use a secure upload link. AATAX reads your clients' receipts and statements, and your team reviews and confirms. Reviewers check the figures, resolve flags and sign off, and every change is recorded. Quarterly updates and final declarations go to HMRC from the same place, and the result is shown straight away. Key features: A practice-wide work queue that shows what is due, overdue and next, most urgent first, with background HMRC status checks. A deadlines page across the practice, filterable by team member, with automated email reminders. Full year end, including the HMRC tax calculation, accounting adjustments, capital allowances, loss treatment, final declaration and amendments after filing. Team roles (Practice admin and Accountant) and client assignment. A per-client history of every submission, with HMRC's response and reference. Income coverage includes self-employment, UK property and foreign property, plus other income and reliefs such as employment, savings interest, dividends, partnerships, CIS deductions, capital gains and Gift Aid. Data is handled under UK GDPR, documents are stored encrypted, and AATAX never sees or stores HMRC passwords. Pricing is £5 per client, per year, ex VAT, for up to 500 clients, with no setup fees and no tiers. Sole traders and landlords who do their own MTD can use a separate AATAX app for free.
