EstiMate is a web app for estimating software projects, built for agencies, IT consultancies and product teams that quote fixed prices or need budgets they can defend. People are bad at predicting hours for work they haven't done yet, but good at comparing which of two tasks is more complex. EstiMate builds on that. A project manager splits the project into work packages and invites up to four estimators by email. Each estimator independently rates every work package on an 8-level complexity scale, from Trivial to Near impossible. Estimators never see each other's ratings, so the first number said out loud can't pull the others towards it. Each estimator then gives a real hour estimate for just one work package, the most complex one they rated "Overseeable". That single anchor converts every complexity point in the project into hours. In the review, the project manager sees all ratings side by side, picks a final complexity per work package, and EstiMate calculates the hour total. Every estimate keeps a record of how it was reached. An optional AI estimator adds one more independent opinion without taking an estimator seat. EstiMate also has a built-in MCP server, so AI assistants such as Claude can create projects and run estimations for you, never with more rights than you have yourself. Estimators don't need an account. Data is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
