"Exceptionally User-Friendly and Versatile—The Best Software Experience Yet"
What do you like best about Slack?

I have not used any other software that is so user friendly and compatible as Slack. It has almost all the features, customisation and UI designing options which makes it a very interactive software as per our requirements.

I have never observed any lag in the software or felt it is running slow or my work is stuck due to that.

It is so easy to integrate with other softwares as well and have the capacity to handle complex integrations very smoothly.

One of the best software i have used till date!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The only issue i have sometime faced is while sharing files, sometimes it use to fail. I understand that sometimes the cause maybe different such as internet issues but it should give some prompts like that so we as a end user could understand the exact cause of the challenge. "Transforms Team Communication with Seamless Collaboration"
What do you like best about Slack?

What I really appreciate about Slack is how much it’s simplified communication at work. Before we had it, reaching out to colleagues was a whole production. You’d find yourself walking around the office, tracking down people, and hoping you could catch them at their desk. A lot of the time, it meant interrupting their workflow, causing delays, or just missing them altogether. What should have been a quick question turned into a back-and-forth of chasing down answers. Slack has just made everything smoother and faster—instant messages and quick responses without the hassle. It’s made work feel more connected, even when you’re not in the same room. What do you dislike about Slack?

What I really dislike about Slack is how noisy it can get. When you’re in a ton of channels, the messages and notifications just pile up, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. On top of that, knowing that higher-ups can read your private messages to others feels like an invasion of privacy. It’s one thing to have transparency, but it doesn’t sit right with me that personal conversations can be accessed like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Team Communication and Real-Time Collaboration"
What do you like best about Slack?

I really like to use Slack in my previous company and current one, because Slack makes team communication fast, easy, organized and transparent. I really like to search the unique name or team member names and start conversations easily and smoothly, I like the features message threads, file sharing and quick hurdle calls, it reduces unnecessary emails and helps teams to stay aligned in real time. What do you dislike about Slack?

so here only the thing which I don't like, when you have multiple groups like private and public it can become overwhelming and I miss important messages, even if I want to search the name it will take so much time, for example, if I want to search my old conversation like June 2025 it will show 15+ pages and I need to go back and it will take time. "Essential Communication Hub with Seamless Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack is my go to tool for communication across my organization.I can structure channels by topic, project or team and do not need mails for everything. The other tools that we use like Outlook, Zoom, Jira can easily be integrated making Slack for me like a communication dashboard for day to day work. Also serves as my goto knowledge base when I am stuck at something, I search on Slack and most of the times I see a channel where the same question has been asked. Reduces redundancy a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The Search is pretty bad. One wrong spelling here and there and it returns nothing. I have seen better search across other similar tools. Also I do not know how to retain messages for a private conversation for a long time. Have to create channels if we want that, for everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Flexible, and Effective Team Communication"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack distinguishes itself with its user-friendly and intuitive interface, making daily communication seamless, even for those new to the platform. Its straightforward implementation process enables teams to get up and running quickly, without the need for complicated setup. I find myself using Slack frequently because it brings together conversations, file sharing, and collaboration in a single location. The platform offers a wide range of features, including channels, threads, search, and notifications, all of which contribute to effective teamwork. Additionally, Slack integrates easily with tools like Jira, GitHub, and Google Workspace, which helps boost productivity. Whenever I have needed help, I have found their customer support to be responsive and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

While Slack offers a robust set of features, the sheer number of options can at times feel overwhelming, especially for new team members, which may affect overall ease of use. As usage becomes more frequent, the volume of notifications can be distracting and make it harder to maintain focus. Additionally, some of the more advanced features have limitations that can complicate the implementation of custom workflows. There are also instances where certain third-party integrations do not function smoothly, which can hinder ease of integration. Finally, the response times from customer support can vary, often depending on the specific subscription plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Automation and Integrations"
What do you like best about Slack?

As a Lead Software Engineer managing multiple squads, Slack has become indispensable for our development workflow. Three features stand out

Workflow Builder with no-code automation — We've automated our entire deployment pipeline notifications. I set up workflows that trigger when events occur in GitHub, PagerDuty, and Jira, centralizing all our DevOps alerts into dedicated channels. The branching logic (up to five nested branches) lets us route incidents based on severity — critical bugs go straight to on-call, while minor issues queue for sprint planning. No more context-switching between ten different tools.

Developer-friendly integrations — We connect GitHub Enterprise, AWS Chatbot, and our CI/CD pipelines directly into Slack. Pull request reviews, commit notifications, and deployment statuses all flow into relevant channels. The Bolt framework (available for Python, JavaScript, and Java) made building our custom internal bot straightforward. We created a bot similar to Shopify's "Spy" that queries our microservices health, checks deployment status, and creates incident channels — all without leaving Slack

Notifications 2.0 and keyword alerts — The recent overhaul finally solved notification fatigue. I've configured custom keywords like "production," "incident," and my team members' project names so I never miss critical discussions, even in high-traffic channels. The VIP notifications feature prioritizes alerts from our monitoring apps, ensuring PagerDuty and Datadog never get buried. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Search could be more robust — While Slack AI search has improved with natural language queries, finding specific technical discussions from months ago still requires creative keyword combinations. When debugging a complex issue, I sometimes wish the search understood code context better.

Thread discipline depends on team culture — Slack's threading works well, but if team members don't use threads consistently, channels become noisy quickly. This isn't Slack's fault, but better thread enforcement options would help.

Huddles limitations — Quick huddles are great for impromptu discussions, but the audio quality and screen sharing occasionally lag compared to dedicated video tools. For quick sync-ups it works; for detailed code reviews, we still switch to other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Slack – Pros, Cons, and Overall Impressions"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack’s biggest win? It’s just so easy to jump in and start chatting. Most people don’t need a manual—channels, DMs, sharing files, it all just clicks from day one. Setting it up is really easy thanks to the user-friendly UI and advice from the support if needed. Especially if you’re on a smaller team. You can spin up a workspace and invite your crew in minutes, no IT headaches required.

Once you start using Slack, it kind of takes over your day, in a good way. It turns those endless email chains into quick, focused chats. Need to bring someone into the loop? Just add them to the channel, and you’re off. And the search bar? Lifesaver. You’ll find old messages or files way faster than digging through your inbox.

When it comes to features and integrations, Slack really brings it. It plugs right into Google Drive and Zoom. That's pretty much anything we already use at work. That means all the work stays in one spot, and with automations and apps, we can cut down on a ton of busywork. All in all, Slack is flexible enough for just about any team, without turning into a tangled mess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Slack’s good with its exciting features, but when you actually use it well. But it gets really overwhelming soon. Too many channels, constant pings, it’s literally annoying and nonstop. I keep getting pulled away from real work, and suddenly you’ve missed something important just because you weren’t staring at Slack every second. People start tossing out quick messages instead of having real talks, and that’s when things get muddled or mixed up. Without some clear rules, Slack just turns into noise and makes things messier than before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Threads Make Group Chats Organized and Focused"
What do you like best about Slack?

I love the concept of Threads very much. It is very helpful in groups where there are many messages of members but each message has an option of separate thread which reduces unnecessary chat history in the main group chat. Also this Thread concept helps members understand better about a specific topic and provides transparency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

There is not much which I dislike about Slack but I have noticed that in the recent update the code formatter is removed from the section where we type message. Now there is only option of adding snippet if we want to send some texts of programming code to someone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Team Communication and Organization with Slack"
What do you like best about Slack?

Slack makes team communication super easy and faster compared to emails. Channels help keep conversations organized and it’s simple to share files, updates and quick decisions in one place. Slack is very easy to set up and get started with. Adding users, creating channels and basic integrations doesn’t take much time, so adoption is quick for most teams. Support is generally good and documentation helps a lot for common issues. Sometimes response for admin or billing issues can take longer than expected.

We use Slack daily throughout the day for team communication and quick updates. It’s basically the main tool for internal chats, coordination and sharing files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Too many notifications can get distracting, especially in big teams. Also search is not always perfect and it becomes difficult to find old messages if channels are too active. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Team Collaboration and Seamless Integration"
What do you like best about Slack?

What I appreciate most about Slack is how it unites the whole team in a single space, which makes communication effortless. Its collaborative features and integration with a range of other apps help keep all our information centralized and make sure everyone remains up to date. On top of that, setting up Slack and incorporating it into our daily routines is both simple and convenient.

We use slack every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I can't pinpoint anything in particular that I dislike about Slack, but one issue I have is with setting time off. I find it difficult to select the exact hour I want, and even if the time is in the near future, the app doesn't always let me choose it.

Also that it is expensive to use the AI tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
