## Redokun Reviews
 ### 1. Excellent Translation Tool for eLearning Courses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily H. | Consultant - Learning and Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Redokun is super easy-to-use - upload your XLIFF, select the target language, pre-translate and add your translators to check and validate the translation.
It simplifies the editing and translation process for our eLearning course translation. I've never had a problem using their XLIFF export in our eLearning tool.
The more you translate in the tool, the better it becomes and the faster your next translations will be.
Any time I have a question that isn't in their help documentation, the team is very quick to respond. They've even gotten on the phone with me to help me figure out the best way to approach some translation projects.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

While this isn't an issue for us because we have our own pool of tranlsators that we use to check and validate the transtlations. If you don't have your own translators, then you will need to source those outside of Redokun. Redokun provides a translation platform not translators.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redokun has helped us reduce the time and complexity related to translating eLearning courses into a variety of languages.

 ### 2. Lost in Translation? Not anymore!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barbara S. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

I discovered Redokun at a time when I was managing the Marketing and Communications activities of 4 people in 13 different languages (yes, crazy hell.)

I found it online by pure chance (although perhaps chance does not exist in life.)

Here's the starting situation, as I entered the role and starting figuring out the situation:

❌ Office processes in total chaos, ZERO organization of workflows

❌ Translations handled in .pdf or Excel by colleagues in foreign branches: this means translations delivered late and frequent errors

❌ Lexicon not always correct

❌ Promotional materials always late

❌ Product launches always late

❌ Marketing team very frustrated, because we see our efforts falling on deaf ears

❌ Branch sales managers very frustrated because they have to redo the same translations over and over again (“How many times do I have to translate this sentence?”) and do not have the material they need to promote products, on time

❌ GM even more frustrated

I was looking for a solution, quick and effective.

There are many similar tools in the market but Redokun immediately caught my attention because:

✅ It has a very intuitive intereface: having to explain how to use it to 13 different people (not all digital-friendly) from different countries, the fact that it was intuitive was a huge plus

✅ The possibility of having a preview of the working page, helps to mentally have an idea of what you are translating (the same thing can certainly not be said of Excel files)

✅ I had direct contact almost immediately with Stefano, one of the two founders: he helped me understand how to make the best use of the platform, to adapt it to my needs
How many other products in the world can you say the same thing about?

✅ The team behind Redokun believes in the product, and the efforts to offer a great service are palpable; worth the money

End situation:

👍🏻 Branch colleagues happy (I mean it - happy) to do the translations of the material they would then use on a daily basis

👍🏻 Clear and defined workflows - less stress and anxiety for everybody

👍🏻 Translations correct and ready on time which means ..

👍🏻 On-time product launches

Give it a try, they offer a 14-days trial and you can translate up to 10.000 words!

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Up to this point, I have not yet found any features that I do not like or that I would like to change.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) Optimizing and clarifing workflows - Reducing stress and anxiety in the team
2) Reducing errors
3) Reducing translation time
4) Managing the product launch of new products in 13 different languages

 ### 3. The Holy Grail for L&D translations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandra B. | Junior Learning & Development Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Being an international company needing to publish eLearning courses in 6 different languages every time, Redokun is the Holy Grail I have been looking for since day 1 of my job in Learning & Development. It has significantly accelerated our course launch process, likely by at least three times. The pre-translation feature with DeepL was definitely what made us go for Redokun over other platforms. I can definitely also recommend the speed and kindness of the customer support.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

We use emojis in the text of the courses, and often, when I upload the course XLIFF back to Articulate Rise, the emojis get lost (only a question mark symbol appears). Still, a minor issue, compared to the amount of time saved with this software.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our problem was managing the translation of eLearning courses into six different languages efficiently. We solved it with Redokun, which has streamlined our process and accelerated course launches by approximately three times. The integration with DeepL for pre-translation has been a game-changer, ensuring high-quality translations with minimal effort.

 ### 4. An Essential Tool for Multilingual Project Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Redokun has significantly streamlined my workflow on multilingual projects. Its ability to efficiently handle and synchronize translations within InDesign files is a massive time-saver. The interface is user-friendly, and features like translation memory and glossary management ensure consistency across all projects. Additionally, collaborating with translators is seamless, even with teams spread across different time zones.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

While powerful, the tool could benefit from additional integrations with software like Photoshop or Illustrator. Broader support for non-InDesign formats would also be a great improvement.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Redokun, handling translations in InDesign files was time-consuming and prone to errors, especially when working with multiple languages and tight deadlines. Redokun simplifies this process by allowing me to upload InDesign files, collaborate with translators directly within the platform, and ensure consistent formatting across all language versions.

The translation memory feature is a game-changer, reducing redundant work by reusing previously translated content and maintaining consistency. It also ensures that updates to documents are synchronized effortlessly, saving hours of manual adjustments.

 ### 5. Redokun is a very helpful, easy-to-use tool for translation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer H. | Translation & Publication Services Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Redokun has made our translation process run more smoothly. It's very user-friendly and our international translators find it easy to learn and use. We are able to manage the translation of our materials in 60+ languages and we utilize this tool every day. The Redokun customer support team is very responsive to questions and to adding new languages into the system.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

It's challenging to add existing materials into Redokun, but we have found a way to work around this issue. It would be helpful to have a way to identify the fonts that translators are using.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redokun provides us with a central location for all our translations. The functionality allows us to communicate with translators and vice versa which reduces email communication.

 ### 6. Easy to use software to translate xliff files that just does its job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ando K. | Batch XXXII Start-up, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

I went through a bunch of tools before finding Redokun as I was looking to translate a bunch of Articulate courses and apart from Redokun or SmartCAT none of them seemed to do the job or had such a convoluted interface that it would require a long learning curve to get a result out of them.
Redokun was easy to use, did what I needed to and on top of that did so for a fraction of a cost of SmartCAT (seriously, one year subscription is a terrible option for a one off project, Redokun offers you a montly option instead).
Plus, the support experience I had was absolutely stellar. Just 10/10

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Can't say anything bad honestly - it just did its job, period

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One-off translation of a bunch of articulate courses

 ### 7. Best marketing investment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas V. | Marketing Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

The ease of use is amazing. No more e-mails back and forward with translations and corrections. And with the integrated translation memory nobody in your team will never have to translate the same sentence twice. A very hard to tackle issue when managing everything yourself.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

You need to pick a 'base' language from which you translate. Translating A to B and then B to C will not automatically match A to C.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time-efficient translating without repetitve work from our team of translators.
No more hard to track lists of corrections, changes, ...

 ### 8. Redokun helped our team to quickly translate our documentation consisting of 300 pages

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny V. | Application manager/Software consultatnt, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

The speed and ease of use of the platform are incredible!
The fact that Redokun learns your specific use of certain words

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

A general setting for the automated translation would be helpful

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Redokun helped us to translate HTML pages with custom CSS and JS and redokun did not break any functionality or visualisation.

 ### 9. Redokun made the impossible possible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

The project I translated had an exact (down to the pixel), intricate, and complex design with many elements on the 200+ pages. Redokun was able to easily extract the text, pre-translate it, and provide an accessible platform for my translators (who were located on three differnet continents) to discuss, change, and confirm the translation. At any point in the journey, the team at Redokun was readily accessible to thoughtfully, accurately, and promptly respond to any questions we had. The interface is extrememly easy to use, even for those who feel computer illiterate. It is very intuitive. Having a glossary was an absolute time-saver as we had many phrases that appeared in different places of the 31 documents in the translation. I would not have completed this translation project if it were not for Redokun.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Very little!! In the future, I would love for it to have an integrated dictionary (and maybe even a grammar & punctuation checker), but it is still powerful without those tools. (Plus Stefano has put together an excellent tutorial on how to set up the Spanish spell-check in InDesign.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translating a book with a complex design with a team spread out across 4 continents. It enabled quicker translation and not having to re-design the book files--a win!

 ### 10. Simply and Perfect

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mauricio S. | Mechanical Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Simply the best translation software I've ever seen. It helps us in InDesign manuals and other documents as well. It makes the translation process so easy that is hard to believe. As a Brazilian agricultural machinery producer, we create our instruction manuals in Portuguese and need to translate them for other languages. Redokun saves a lot of time on the entire process, from the translation itself to the final layout as well.

Besides the software being great, Redokun Team is also very helpful, always helping and guiding us when necessary.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

The Dislike? The only dislike was that I discovered Redokun only a few years ago. We suffered a lot before knowing Redokun... sending documents to a translator, waiting for the entire translation, spending time adjusting the final layout... hard to believe how much time we saved after Redokun.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First of all, the wasted time that we spent before Redokun in the translation process. Also, Redokun has a translation memory that helps us on using the same words in the translations.

 ### 11. Comacchio Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessandro C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

The ability to search translation memories and find suitable contexts as well as the versatility of collaboration between translators

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

There are no actual critical issues encountered in the program and in its daily use.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It significantly reduces the time and the text to be sent to the different translators, consequently reducing the costs for the translation work.

 ### 12. Vastly speed up the translations process across our 20+ Markets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenni A. | PIM Integration Specialist & Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

It's really increased our speed to market and taken alot of the work from the graphics team into the hands of the markteers. Now it's preparing 1 file, and then pushing it to all our markets in one go. It negates the use of copy and paste for any one. The people assign to the translation work can work in the online enviroment, benefit from past translation stores in the translation memory and we then get a confirmed file back where we can make a file ready for review. We love the possibility of being able to send anything from Idml file, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and .srt substitiles files for video.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Not too much to dislike honestly. Only couple of "issues" are the lack of conectivity into other areas. I would love a API that would be able to connect to different services like EPI commece or directly into our PIM (Product Information Management) System. That are the only really dislikes of the produduct.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving our translation problems and really both delivers high level translations and speed to all our tasks. I personally work on a GRP level and make a lot of documents in English that then needs to be push to all our local markets. Redokun let's us upload a english brochrue and push it easily and fast to 22+ markets. It does 3 passes before the marketeers sees the translations whree it draws from the translation memory to use previous apporved paragraphs or sentences and then a final machine translation of what's missing. Then every markteers can review they brochure in their own language. Confim it and then we can make a PDF for review. It just speeds up the process so much. No copy and pasting comments in PDF both for them and us. The fact the system gets better as with each file is just a huge benefit.

 ### 13. Translations made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan S. | Head of Marketing, Communications & IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

It's easy to work with, it's convenient, it's fast, it's reliable, it's fun to use. :-) Redokun fulfills all our translation needs. The support is quick, friendly and always to the point.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

I can't really say anything negative about the app. It has more features than I could have asked for, it makes our workflow easier and faster and if I stumble across anything that I don't understand, the support will quickly help me out.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We design our manuals and all other printed materials to nine different languages. Doing this in Word used to be complicated, if not outright impossible. With Redokun, the workflow is simplified and sped up manyfold.

 ### 14. Very surprised that Redokun focuses in quality and not quantity of features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

We wanted to find a simple and easy-to-use platform where we would not have to spend hours and weeks of training to master it. Even though it does not have a vast amount of features, it focuses on making sure that the current ones are impeccable.
The Redokun team, especially Stefano, was always on point with deadlines and communication, we always felt like we had support anytime we needed it.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Not much to dislike, we are eager to see how they continue to listen to feedback and improve their platform by adding meaningful features.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translation Management and Translation Memory. Redokun focuses on making sure that these are working for you and not against you.

 ### 15. Goes beyond the stars

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Silvio Alejandro Ricardo C. | Fishery Information Systems Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Redokun is a game changer for professional desktop workflows. Managing, publishing, and collaborating in multiple languages is easier and more efficient.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Since 2017 I've been successfully using the platform to manage the workflow from English to Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian and Chinese without any problem.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The workflow is more efficient and less time-consuming.

 ### 16. The missing piece in a multilingual (InDesign) workflow

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dieter M. | Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Ability to do quick translations of (updated) InDesign documents based without waiting a few days on the translation agency.

The tags and markers in the web editor make it easy to keep styling.

It's well-optimized for InDesign. Generated files are much better (styling is better preserved)
than an InDesign file generated by SDL Trados by our translation agency. There is far less cleanup necessary of the translated InDesign files.

Easy to use. It has the necessary functionality without making it complex.

Support is very friendly and helpful.

No vendor lock-in. If we decide to stop using Redokun one day, we lose nothing. Translation memory can be exported to standard TMX files.

Ability to work with translation agencies (using XLIFF export) as well as internal translators (using XLSX or the web editor).

Pre-Translate function saves big on translation costs and time.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

While the web editor feels intuïtive, I feel translators who never used it really need some time to grasp the concept of tags and markers.

Doesn't have the bells and whistles of a full fledged CAT tool. For example, Redokun has a Translation Memory (for full segments) but lacks a Term Base (for terms)

TM manager (to search and edit the Translation Memory) is not included in lower pricing plans.

**Recommendations to others considering Redokun:**

Check out which segmentation setting works best for you and your agency. In our case, the sentence segmentation matched our existing translation memory much better than the default paragraph segmentation.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of our documentation is translated by an agency. Before Redokun, we submitted the source InDesign file and some days later we received the translated InDesign file. Although we had to do quiet a lot of cleanup in the files afterwards (fix styling issues), it was ok. Costly, but it works.

The real hassle starts when a document needed to be updated. We had two choices:

Option A: Keep track of the changes in the source files, collect the changes and have them translated, and apply the changes manually in the other language versions.
Problem: very time consuming and hard to keep track of the changes (and even more when there are new updates while text is in translation). Often changes get forgotten, and language versions of a document become outdated.

Option B: Submit the full document with our translation agency again. This works, but costs (a lot of) money, even though they use a translation memory. Plus, all the cleanup work afterwards needs to be done again.

Neither feels like a good workflow. This is where Redokun came in. It acts like a filter between the graphic desinger (like myself) and the translation agency. No need to track changes in updated documents anymore: Redokun detects which text segments are new and automatically fills in what's possible based on it's translation memory. The web editor helps us to quickly translate updated texts with small changes. And the rest of the new text is sent to our translation agency as usual. Of course, this time we only pay for the new segments. When we receive the translations, we upload them in Redokun and generate the translated InDesign.

Simply put: with Redokun we found a translation workflow that, well... works. Even if it wouldn't save on translation costs (which it does), I would still use it because of the speed and control it offers for our translations.

Note: using Redokun mostly for InDesign files (since that was the only supported filetype) recently using it for HTML and Office documents too.

 ### 17. Saves time and increases productivity!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catarina V. | In-house translator

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

It has revolutionized the way we translate our catalogues. Before, we would translate every year our 500-page catalogue into 4 languages, which used to take us almost 3 months of work. Many of our products are the same year after year with some minor changes. Now thanks to Redokun, we can maximize our productivity since we can now only extract never translated before segments.

Even while using it for the first time and by uploading our memories, we could get almost 1/3 of the catalogue translated with no effort! Also, we love the translation management tool since it helps to provide feedback to the team, check up on progress and easily assign tasks.

Thanks to Redokun we can cut translation time by a lot and invest it in better quality translations instead of rushing to meet deadlines!

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

There is nothing that we dislike. The software is straightforward and practical to use. It would be nice if it was available in more languages other than English since some of our teammates aren't proficient.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to Redokun, we save a lot of time while increasing productivity and quality.

Now we can easily translate a catalogue regardless of last-minute changes and repeated content.

 ### 18. It has revolutionized the way I work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alessio T. | Technical Writer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

It makes the company translation database available in real time. It allows me to align technical manuals in more than 8 languages in a few minutes, saving time and money in external translations. It also allows me to minimize the risk of errors with the classic "copy paste" method.

I also really like the clean and simple interface that allows me to focus on the translation.

Redokun also allows me to use the translation memory for all those Word or Excel documents that can be added to the usual Indesign documents that I happen to manage.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

The biggest problem is that now I can't do without it anymore!

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No more copy/paste method! Full access to a translation memory database. Now I spend less time on translations and my revisions are always aligned.

 ### 19. A huge time saver

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Redokun enables increased accuracy - in record time. Wheras in the past, we had to spend hours manually copying and pasting text to and from InDesign and Excel files which took a lot of time and increased the risk of errors, Redokun provides a very easy to use workflow that bridges the design and translation process.

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Some may say that the cost is too high, but from our perspective, the time saved means that this is a very fair price.

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Saves a lot of time in copying text from Indeign into other formats
2. Reduces errors as there is no longer a nees for manual copy and paste.

 ### 20. A Translation Management Software that saves time and money

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas N. | Director of Integrated Marketing, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Redokun?**

Easy to learn and use. The software has all the essential functions to distribute and manage translations. Great support and open to suggestions for new featur.s. It is super easy to add new translators

**What do you dislike about Redokun?**

Nothing I really dislike, I simply wish the software would have the capability to open other files but InDesign. It would be great if one could asign more than one translator to a document.
Would be great to have the option of reading and outputting Excel, Word, PowerPoint document. Even better Redokun should create a software that manages website translations

**Recommendations to others considering Redokun:**

Easiest translation management tool on the market, short learning curve and at the right price point. Most other tools are too complicated and expensive

**What problems is Redokun solving and how is that benefiting you?**
