## Passwork Reviews
 ### 1. Exactly what we were looking for, does everything it promises

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lukas B. | IT administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

Using Passwork has been a genuinely pleasant experience. It doesn't get in your way. The role-based access and vault types, structure control is exactly what we needed. Since we have people across different departments, the ability to set up permissions was one of the main reasons we switched to Passwork from previous service.

The API is well documented, which made it easy to integrate Passwork into our existing workflows. The interface feels intuitive, and onboarding new team members now takes minutes instead of days.

The browser extension works reliably, which matters more than people realize until they've dealt with one that doesn't.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

Nothing significant comes to mind. Passwork does what it promises, and the team has been responsive when we had questions.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is centralized, and access is tied to roles. When someone leaves the team, we know exactly what needs to be rotated. That alone saves us hours and takes a lot of risk off the table.

 ### 2. Simple, Secure Password Management for Everyone - Backed by Fast, Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guillaume S. | Architecte Solutions Cloud, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

We needed a password manager that would include all company staff, with client-side encryption, and not only the technical staff.

Passwork was able to provide that with a very simple and accessible interface for everyone.

Moreover, the Passwork team provide fast-response support and improved the solution over time, adding the most needed features and performance improvements required to support very large compagnies/very high number of entries.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

A few years ago Passwork missed some feature that other solution provided like multiple links per passwords or TOTP. But these feature as been added over time.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Password management is complicated enough for must users, that a simple and accessible solution is required to be able to onboard most of the employees.

Also Passwork supports APIs that we replace Vault-like solution, which are designed for automation rather than end users.

 ### 3. Intuitive, reliable and flexible: Passwork delivers as a business password manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

We use Passwork as our primary business password manager and have been very happy with it so far. The interface is clean and intuitive, onboarding the team was straightforward, and sharing credentials between teams and individual users works reliably. The self-hosted option and the rights management are a major plus: you can create multiple vaults and control precisely who has access to what. The vendor is also very responsive and is actively working on new features, which we genuinely appreciate.

Pros: TOTP support, multiple languages, easy installation, good scalability as the team grows, and a vendor that is active and easy to reach. There is also a desktop app now, although we haven’t had the chance to test it in our day-to-day workflow yet.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

Cons: The browser plugin is functional but not as smooth or feature-rich as Bitwarden or 1Password.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwork solves our need for a secure, centrally managed place to store and share credentials across teams. Before, passwords were scattered across different tools and people. Now everything is organized in one place with clear access controls. The self-hosted option was important for us from a data sovereignty perspective, and the role-based rights management means we can make sure the right people have access to the right things without any overhead.

 ### 4. Centralized Password Management with a Few Setup Hiccups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

I really appreciate how Passwork allows us to centrally manage and securely store all corporate passwords and credentials across our IT and operations teams. The major issue it solved was visibility; we previously had no reliable way to know who had access to which credentials, and offboarding an employee meant manually chasing down shared passwords. Passwork provided us with a single, auditable source of truth. The initial setup was also straightforward for our IT team. Overall, I would definitely recommend Passwork since it has been a valuable tool for our organization.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

The initial setup requires solid server administration knowledge. For our teams, it wasn't a problem, but I wouldn't call it plug-and-play. The mobile experience is functional but feels slightly behind the desktop and browser extension in terms of polish and speed.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Passwork to centrally manage and securely store all corporate passwords, giving us a single, auditable source of truth and solving visibility issues. The initial setup isn't plug-and-play, requiring server knowledge. The mobile experience is slightly less polished than the desktop version.

 ### 5. Clear password management with strong access control and on-premise option

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

The greatest strength of Passwork for us is the combination of a clear structure and clean rights management. Passwords can be logically organized in folders (e.g., by systems or departments), so that even less tech-savvy users can quickly find the required access without having to ask questions first.

Particularly helpful is the granular access control: We can very precisely determine who is allowed to view or edit passwords. This way, sensitive accesses can be specifically secured, while teamwork becomes significantly more efficient at the same time.

A major benefit in everyday use is centralization. Previously, access data was distributed across various systems (Excel, notes, etc.); today, all authorized users access a unified platform. This noticeably reduces search times and coordination and overall provides more transparency.

The performance is stable and remains fast even with many entries. In daily use, there are no delays, which is especially important in support or administration contexts. The implementation was straightforward and could be carried out with minimal effort, as the interface is largely self-explanatory.

The pricing is fair and transparent compared to the market. Especially in relation to the range of functions and the possibility of on-premise operation, Passwork offers a very good price-performance ratio. The ROI is clearly recognizable for us: By centrally managing access data, search times, team inquiries, and manual coordination are significantly reduced, while security simultaneously increases.

Additionally, the option for on-premise operation is convincing, which is a crucial factor for us from a data protection perspective. Integrations are available but could be further expanded in the future to better integrate existing systems.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

One area that could be improved from our perspective is the integrations. Although basic connections are available, in some areas these could be more extensive and flexible so that existing systems can be better integrated and processes can be further automated.

The user interface is generally well-structured, but in some areas—particularly with advanced settings or in rights management—it still seems somewhat improvable in terms of clarity and intuitiveness.

For larger or more complex environments, additional functions in the area of reporting and auditing would also be helpful to document changes and accesses in a more detailed and traceable manner.

AI-supported functions are currently not available. In the future, features such as automatic security assessments or alerts for potentially insecure configurations would be a useful addition.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before the introduction of Passwork, our access data was distributed across different systems and formats, such as Excel lists, local notes, or individual tools. This regularly led to high coordination efforts, long search times, and increased security risks in everyday life.

With Passwork, we were able to centralize these processes. All relevant access data is now structured in one central location and managed through clear access rights. This allows authorized users to quickly access the necessary information without additional inquiries or further coordination.

As a result, our workflows have noticeably improved: Support and administration tasks can be completed more efficiently because the required accesses are immediately available. At the same time, transparency has increased, and dependency on individual persons has been reduced.

Additionally, we were able to increase the security level, as insecure storage methods like Excel lists or unstructured password collections are eliminated. Overall, we benefit from significant time savings and a much better organization of access management.

 ### 6. Passwork: Amazing Password Storage at a Great Price

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

Passwork is amazing for storing passwords, and the price points makes it very valuable for organizations not willing to invest highly in a tool that should do a very simple task.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

There are a few kinks here and there. The main pain point is the use of double passwords for users. In larger organizations it is an impossibility that all employees have to remember not only one, but two passwords.

However dumb that seems, it can realistically lead to a lot of users asking to have their passwords reset :)

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bugs happen sometimes, but you barely need to tell them before they fix it. The bugs are minor however, so this is a non-issue.

 ### 7. Self-Hosted Password Management with Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolas W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

I like that we can host Passwork ourselves, which means we do not have to trust any third party, and we have the passwords on our own infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

It's annoying that Passwork doesn't show the whole password in the extension if it's too long, and it doesn't use a monoblock font, so I never know if it's a zero or an O. They should also change to monofont, show the entire password in the extension, and allow multiple URLs for the same password. The initial setup is medium, and they could improve the deployment functionality.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwork keeps our passwords secure by avoiding plaintext email sharing and centralizing them. Hosting it ourselves ensures password security on our infrastructure without third-party reliance.

 ### 8. Solid password manager for IT teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

We've been using Passwork for about two years. The interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. On-premise deployment and role-based access control were the main reasons we chose it — both work as expected and helped us get access management under control.

Performance is stable, AD integration works well once configured, and the pricing is reasonable for the feature set you get.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

Hard to find anything significant to complain about. If anything, the initial setup required some time to configure correctly.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Passwork, we were dealing with the usual mess—passwords shared over chats and no real visibility into who had access to what. Passwork fixed that for us. Now access is organized, roles and permissions are clear, and we finally have a proper audit trail.

 ### 9. Secure and Efficient Internal Account Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danilo J. | Lead Product Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

I like Passwork for its ease of use, LDAP synchronization, vault sharing, and robust access control features. These aspects help us quickly and easily manage accounts and control who can access certain data. The ability to use it offline and self-hosted is a major plus for meeting our security requirements as an IT company.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

The UI can be more adaptable and configurable to the screen size. The initial setup was not really easy since we had to create and configure three databases and two app servers, but once we managed to do that, the rest was easy.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwork offers controlled access and password sharing, making it easier for us to manage account access securely. It's particularly beneficial being offline and self-hosted, crucial for our security needs.

**Reviewed by:** Davide L. | ICT Manager & Area Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

I’ve been using it for several years now and, so far, I haven’t found anything I don’t like about it.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a centralised credential management solution that meets the requirements for ISO 27001 certification. In practice, it has proven extremely useful for managing time-based one-time passwords from a single place, since these can be configured alongside other credentials.

 ### 12. Simple and Secure Password Manager

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denis I. | CISO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

I like that Passwork is a very convenient and secure password manager. It has a user-friendly interface, makes it easy to store and share passwords safely, and provides strong data protection.

There’s not much to dislike, but it could have more integrations with third-party services and a more advanced mobile experience.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Passwork solves the problem of securely storing and managing passwords in one place. It helps avoid using weak or repeated passwords, reduces the risk of data breaches, and makes it easy to share access within a team. This saves time, improves security, and simplifies daily work.

 ### 13. Simple Docker setup, clear interface, all important features included

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Passwork?**

The setup and updating of the self-hosted version with Docker containers works simply and reliably. Passwork offers several options to import credentials, allowing us to migrate the credentials from our old password manager without any issues. The user interface is very clear. In the list of credentials, many details such as name, login, URL, and tags are displayed, making it easy to distinguish the credentials. As a user, you can give feedback on missing features, which is then actually considered in the development.

**What do you dislike about Passwork?**

Sometimes it would be practical if the user interface could take up the entire screen width on larger screens.

**What problems is Passwork solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In contrast to our old password manager, Passwork offers a browser integration and fine-grained permissions. These were the two main reasons for switching to a new password manager.
