## AwardSpring Reviews
 ### 1. User-friendly and wonderful customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I truly appreciate how quick and friendly Award Spring’s customer service is. The platform itself is user-friendly and intuitive, which has significantly streamlined what was once a rigorous, manual scholarship process. I couldn’t be more satisfied. Award Spring consistently rolls out updates that enhance the system without introducing many bugs, and I value how responsive the team is in addressing any concerns. The reporting features have also been incredibly useful for managing our data. The improvements made this year have been outstanding—they’ve genuinely made a big difference.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Occasionally, the timing of updates can be challenging—especially when they coincide with the start of a scholarship cycle—but Award Spring is usually very responsive in helping us resolve any issues that arise. I also wish there were a simpler way to provide feedback to applicants about their scholarship submissions.I have seen in the updates coming this fall and next spring that there will be some AI integrations that should hepl with any issues I'm having with this.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Award Spring is helping us solve not having to keep paper documentation and to keep things more condensed and private for our students. It is also easier to run reports and easily sent data to other departments.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> So glad to hear you're finding our software to be simple and intuitive. And we love to hear that you're pleased with our service team - we think they're the best :-)

We completely understand that by updating the software every 6-8 weeks or so we sometimes run into bad timing with application cycles opening and/or closing. We've made changes in the last few weeks that allow us to roll out software changes with no downtime, and we're always running webinars on how our platform changes from release to release, so let us know if there's anything we can do to further minimize impact.

 ### 2. Award Spring Review for South Piedmont Community College

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerstin A. | Director of Financial Aid & Veteran Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

As I explored the features of AwardSpring, it quickly became clear how transformative it could be for both students and administrators. One of its most impressive strengths is the way it centralizes the entire scholarship process. Rather than juggling paper applications, spreadsheets, and endless email threads, everything is organized within a single, intuitive platform. For students, this means applying for scholarships is less intimidating—they can view available opportunities, check eligibility, and submit required materials all in one place.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Reporting capabilities, while strong overall, could benefit from more dynamic and customizable dashboards. The existing reports are helpful, but users with more advanced data needs might wish for additional filtering options or the ability to create visualizations directly within the system rather than exporting to external tools.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From an administrative standpoint, the automation features are a game-changer. The system can pre-screen applicants based on set criteria, send automated reminders about upcoming deadlines, and even assign reviewers to applications. These workflows reduce the potential for human error and free up valuable time that staff can redirect toward student engagement or program development.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for this thoughtful and informative review, Kerstin! Your ideas on reporting are duly noted. We have plans this summer to make our Smart Reports even more responsive, and we have additional plans this fall as we prep for the next busy season to add even more reporting objects and filters. If you want to share more ideas or set up some regular checkpoints for sharing product ideas, please click the form below.

 ### 3. Technical & Intellectual Support is Tops!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chapel A. | Operations Venue Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

What I like best about AwardSpring is it's an all in one platform for student applications, reviewing, awarding, and receiving thank you letters and photos. Implementation has been smooth. The AwardSpring team is very personable and the tutorials are great.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I haven't found any downsides. After 2 years of use, we are very happy with the program.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring has helped us keep all scholarships, applications, and reviews in one place.

 ### 4. AwardSpring is a wonderful addition to any scholarship organization!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karin Hammann D. | Program Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2021

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I love that they are always available to answer our questions-especially during the crazy scholarship season! So many issues arise during the process, and you need answers on the fly. We are so happy with how they respond and are at the ready. I also love the way that they help to teach us how to fix and prevent issues in the future. They give you the tools you need to succeed and have your scholarship program grow and flourish.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Honestly, there is really nothing that we dislike as we have been able to adapt to any issues and incorporate them into our program. I think that we have also found that some of the new adaptations are actually more efficient! We have found that suggestions and questions that we have are heard and really looked at to see if it might be a better way. We never feel dismissed and we are heard.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

If anyone is questioning it, let me tell you to just do it! It has added so much to our program and we feel that we have made the right choice. With 44 funds and an additional 15 through our affiliate we found it to be easy, user friendly and gave us a real boost in our applicants and quality of the application. It is also a great way to highlight your donors who make your program successful.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We began to realize that the paper application is not ideal, especially because it isn't relevant to our intended audience. We needed to make an impact on high school or college students and that meant evolving and realizing that our intended audience lives online. You apply for jobs online, apply for colleges online and most students and young adults begin and end their search on a computer. In order to keep up with the times, we had to move to the online platform. We have found that we have been able to remove some of the responsiblilty of the school system with sending transcripts and have been able to really count on the letters of recommendations to be authentic. Every year, there was a question to the LOR's and if they were real. We had no way to follow up to question that authenticity but with the link being sent to the person writing the letter, it was impossible for the student to manipulate the letter. The benefits that we have realized is that it has really allowed more students to apply and has really cut down on the process of printing and we are so pleased to be able to login in at any time and check something with ease. It has also been great as we are all working remotely and meetings were so easy as we could all be viewing the same application at the same time without having to print a lot of copies and snail mail them.In the past, the deadline, while true, seemed to drag on due to the mail and delivery of applications. With this system, we are able to "turn the application off" at 5 pm and that is that! It was refreshing to not be worried what was coming in the mail three days after the deadline. We were also challenged with students not submitting complete applications and the question as to whether we as an organization was fair in the decision-making process. The ability to demonstrate fairness was easy with our customized scorecards, and really made the whole process fair and equitable. Numbers don't lie and it was apparent that the students that were at the top of the pack were there because of their accomplishments, not because of being a favorite of a staff member or reviewer. We are also very excited about the donor features. While a lot of our donors are no longer with us, their family members are. This is helping us to bridge the gap. We love that they are able to login and help us to introduce the donors to the students and their families. We feel that it is important that the students know about the donors and why they created funds. We have students that have received multi year scholarships and have really wonderful relationships with our donors who contributed to their college success.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Wow Karin! Thanks so much for all these kind words. We thrilled to hear that you're finding both the platform's ease of use and our team's responsiveness to be huge wins for your organization. If there's anything we can do to help you or your team out - you know where to find us :-)

 ### 5. A Professional Streamlined Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley D. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring allowed us to move our scholarship application platform that streamlined our internal processes and provided a more professional look to our application.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The inability to copy the entire application within the same award cycle.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining, organizing, privacy

 ### 6. Wonderful Customer Service and Implementation Process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The person we worked with had an incredible work ethic and positive attitude. We threw several curveballs at her and she kept moving without a hitch. I felt like she went out of her way to make sure we got what we wanted as best she could. She also used a tracking program for implementation that was wonderful in keeping everything together. So far I can say customer support has been great. I'm just getting into the system but more and more I'm find opportunities to utilize this for our campus. Everything they had seems to be pretty easy to use and navigate and our data management systems seemed to integrate well with AwardSpring.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The only downside so far is there were a couple of features that I was under the impression that there were a couple of features we would have that we do not. But that may be more my misunderstanding than their error in disclosing.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it's helping to solve is getting all of our scholarship and award information and processes in one, easy to use location.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the feedback! We'd love to hear about the features you *thought* we had. Perhaps there's something there we can show you or a great idea for us to uncover and consider for future development. Feel free to drop us your product ideas any time!

 ### 7. Using Award Spring for over four years

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ELLEN O. | Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

That you can copy and paste previous created award cycle information into a new cycle.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Every time that I open up the application I have to make sure that I am in the correct cycle year.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to send out bulk emails to students and reviewers.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for the feedback Ellen! Can I ask - do you have a lot Award Cycles that you need to toggle between driving the need to check each time? Or do you find that our platform is somehow inconsistent in remembering where you left off? I’d love to understand more to help create a better experience. You can message me directly at kreilly@awardspring.com or fill out the product feedback form below.

 ### 8. Award Spring Review

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

It provides an easy access portal for those who apply, those who grade, and admins. Customer support is pretty responsive as well.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

It can be difficult to run application periods that overlap but have different closing dates.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring provides us a platform to organize the grant and scholarship processes we have.

 ### 9. Could not be more pleased with AwardSpring.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie H. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring is intuitive and user-friendly for students. The build-out of our scholarship cycle was done efficiently and with excellent communication from the team. We were able to easily understand how to make changes and additions from the administration dashboard, and feel like that was an fantastic upgrade to our application process.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Very little. There are some features that are available, but not automated, but that's a very small complaint.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring removes barriers for students applying for scholarships, creates a seamless integration of all of the crazy questions that our application asks, and provides a public-facing donor site that properly honors their contributions.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for these kind words, Natalie! We'd love to hear your ideas on automations that could make your life easier. Feel free to submit your ideas to our support team or drop a note to our product team directly @ product@awardspring.com

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David K. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

It seems user friendly for the students and has a good interface for administrators.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There seems to be some clunky and illogical features when setting up scholarship cycles.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Common application for students to use.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Hi David, thanks so much for taking time to provide a review. I’d love to hear more about your experience with setting up new cycles. **What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

It might be nice to have an API that would keep our recipient and email communication student data in sync with our current CRM - Hubspot.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficient administration process and student communication.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the great feedback, Hugo. And your thoughts on APIs are noted. We'd love to hear more about how you'd like to connect to HubSpot. Is it more about pushing data in from HubSpot to AwardSpring? Or do you want to go the other direction? Or both? If you'd like to discuss more, feel free to book some time on my calendar below.

 ### 12. Tremendous onboarding and customer service!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashley G. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Onboarding with Sam was spectacular. She was thorough and ensured that we were all on the same page, yet kept the pace clipping along. The software is user friendly and robust enough to meet our needs. We stayed on target and met our launch date well in advance!

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

No downside other than the challenge of learning a new software but we feel that we were properly trained and have more than sufficient support, if we arrive at any challenges!

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring is allowing us to move away from our paper version of scholarship applications and into a web based system.

 ### 13. Awardspring Utilities and Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily L. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The system is fairly intuitive. I am just delving into the reporting features but those allow for some filters and drill down of information. I am excited to create a custom report. The application process is pretty easy for students.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There are occasional glitches in the system which are problematic during an application cycle.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a single application for all process and Awardspring makes that easy and convenient for students. On the administrative side, the manipulation of criteria and creation of questions that align with scholarships is simple. ### 14. AwardSpring Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2022

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

As an Administrator, I find AwardSpring to be exceptionally user-friendly, which simplifies my work. The students also find the application process to be much more straightforward compared to the previous system. Working with this company is a delight. The customer support team is remarkable—highly knowledgeable, amiable, and patient, always available to help with any issues that arise.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Currently, I have no complaints regarding this company or their program.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our office receives a weekly exception report informing us of missing information or duplicate records needing to be merged into one. This is extremely helpful to clean up duplicate scholarship applications. The report also details missing majors not added to the AwardSpring database.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Responsive and superior customer service. Incredible at implementing feedback from user community. Very robust product with many features. Excellent support/webinars.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The only thing I don't like is that some features are more unintuitive, like how blinding works. It's functional, but could be improved. Luckily, the AwardSpring team is always striving to improve.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring allows us to easily accept applications, assign reviewers, and award students.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for this feedback, Michael. We are absolutely always looking to improve - if you have any suggestions on how we might make things like review blinding more intuitive, please don't hesitate to let us know. ### 16. Digital Scholarship Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JoAnne Y. | Assistant Director Institutional Advancement/Scholarship Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Transferring records from our college host database. Setting up scponsorships one time and carrying over each year. Tracking awards in real time and showing available balances. Not being able to over award. Tracking email with students.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

My deadline and award time were off with the registration. THis has ato be done after registrations begins or batch registration is done for the Fall semester, otherwise current students and graduates show eligibilty.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easily match students to pre set criteria.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> JoAnne, thanks so much for taking time to review our platform. Glad to hear you're seeing benefits across the board.

We'd love to hear more about the issues you've had with with deadlines. If you're interested in sharing more, please reach out to product@awardspring.com and we'll see if we can come up with ideas to help with this deadline/timing issue.

 ### 18. Best Customer Service & Very Efficient!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha H. | Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The customer service from AwardSpring to both staff, students, and scholarship administrators is truly special. Our scholarship applications increased 80% from implementing this software. I estimated that this saved us almost 160 hours of work by implementing the software. Great product!

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There is nothing I dislike about AwardSpring.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to implementing AwardSpring, we spent countless hours on paper applications, Excel documents, manual processes. We struggled with getting good scholarship application numbers. As I mentioned, we have seen an 80% increase in QUALIFIED Scholarship applicants & no longer have to match students manually to scholarships. This saved us almost 160 hours of work.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for the positive review, Samantha! We appreciate your feedback and your partnership! (we really love to hear that we saved you over 160 hours of work - that's a full month!!!)

 ### 19. Easy to Navigate, Room to Improve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I really like how easy it is to navigate the platform. The UI is very intuitive. Customer Support has been great.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I think that the Help Center could be improved dramatically (maybe more something like what Handshake has done) and that editing the application could be made easier. I also wish you could have a new, separate application for each cycle, so that editing the application for a new cycle doesn't break data points from previous cycles.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a solo administrator for scholarships at my institution and AwardSpring makes it possible to administer over a million dollars in scholarship funds by myself.

 ### 20. Excellent Product/Company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The best things about AwardSpring are: EXCELLENT Customer Support, platform was easy to implement and continues to be easy to use (coming from a VERY non-tech person) and even though we are a very small customer, have always felt like we mattered and our questions/challenges have been addressed with our ONE scholarship the same as those who might have ONE HUNDRED. To top all that off, one of the most affordable programs out there that we were able to find that had all of the features we needed.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I honestly can't think of anything significant. Even when we have encountered issues or challenges, they were addressed.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, they took an antiquated PAPER application process and automated it/made it more accessible via online and this has been a big time saver for staff.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thank you so much for this kind review! We're thrilled to hear that you feel seen/heard - this is important to us as we want all of our customers to feel like we're there for them and take each user's feedback into consideration as we continue to build new features.

 ### 21. AwardSpring is a terrific tool for scholarship management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raymond A. | Alumni Relations Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring is an all in one platform that seamlessly allows for quick and straitforward applications submissions, grading, and awarding. Sam Lucas was great in implementing the program. The 30 plus scholarships that we have were easily integrated and on the platform is a simple and effective customer support button.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I have yet to discover anything that I don't like about AwardSpring.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring is allowing us to integrate our student banner system in an all in one platform.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for taking time for a review, Raymond. We appreciate your feedback and partnership!

 ### 22. Award Spring is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The process of awarding students and distributing funds is extremely easy. I like how you can award students in bulk and go directly to the distribution tab for those users. Also, that you can distribute funds evenly.

The customer support is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Our integration process from our old system to Award Spring was a breeze.

The application questions and format is extremely versatile; it's nice to be able to add conditional questions.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Some improvements that would be extremely helpful would be able to duplicate qualification groups and to disable and re-enable to see different group of applicants.

It would be awesome if there are reports for each scholarship. Say you were in the Award and Deny tab, it would be great if you could download the information that's currently within that tab. Also, if you could expand the information in that tab so you can view as many columns as possible without having to continue scrolling left and right.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to identify recipients from mulitple scholarships. Award Spring makes it easy to import certain data from our system and able to great questions for non-importable data.

Award Spring also makes it easy to keep track of these recpients.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for taking time to give us a review. We love the ideas you shared around duplicating qualification groups. We've also recently expanded the width of the screen - so we'd love to hear from you if that's helped with the award/deny view. If you have other product ideas, please send them along to product@awardspring.com

 ### 23. Great tool, awesome service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cielalisa V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I absolutely love that it is one single application. It takes away so much stress for students when they don't have to go through a list of scholarships, pick out the ones they're eligible for, then fill out a very slightly different application for every single scholarship. It also means my team doesn't have to read every application and make sure it actually qualifies for the scholarship.

We haven't gotten to implement the integration with our SIS yet, but I'm hopeful that once we have that feature in place it will make the process even easier on my team and our students. So far it doesn't seem like it will be too much trouble, it's simply a matter of having the time.

The customer support has also always been great. I get quick responses to my questions, and can reach someone via phone, email, or even Zoom if really necessary. I've had tech support get on calls with me and walk me through processes that were confusing step by step, and were always very pleasant and helpful.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

It's not the most intuitive system, unfortunately. The award cycle feature is a bit awkward to use and was extremely confusing at first - I had no training and was dropped into the middle of a cycle, so I had to figure it all out as I went and struggled a lot. Tech support was great when I needed it, but there aren't a ton of answers online, or useful how to videos, or things like that.

The system for running a Special Application also needs a lot of work. If you run schoalrships outside of your single "annual application cycle" it becomes cumbersome to create and for students to fill out. If there is overlap between special apps and the annual ones, there can be confusion for students and in scoring.

There is also not many ways or opportunities to make mass changes to scholarships. While I can add a question to my application and it's for all scholarships, I can't add post-awarding paperwork that students need to fill out to every scholarship at once, it has to be done one at a time. There are a lot of places where there can be automation added in that would make the system faster.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring makes it easy for students to apply for multiple scholarships at once. They don't have to go through the hassle of figuring out which they are qualified for, the system does it for them. This takes a huge load of stress off of students who already have enough to do.

It also makes matching qualified students and scoring them much easier. I can easily assign reviewers in batches or automatically, and I can be relatively certain the students are qualified for the scholarship.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thank you so much for taking time to write this thoughtful and comprehensive review. Glad to hear you're seeing some real, positive benefits from the platform.

With regards to your feedback, we do have some resources and updates for you:
-Online help: be sure to check out the "Help Center" tab built into the administrator experience. It has multiple articles and videos for all sorts of different features in the platform
-Webinars: we run monthly webinars (recordings available in the Help Center) where you can take a class in an hour or less on a variety of topics (including New Administrator training which might be a good start if you've never received formal training)
-Support team: you can ask our support@awardspring.com team any time for 1-off training (sounds like you've done some of this already)
-Mass updating scholarships: great news here! We're making substantial changes to allow for the mass-updating of scholarships. Stay tuned to release notes or ask for training on how to use these new features
-Special Funds Applications: we'd love your feedback and ideas on how to improve the experience for this feature

Thanks again for taking time to give us this useful feedback!

 ### 24. Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I've been working with AwardSpring since November 2021 and I love it! Their product is very intuitive and the customer service is exceptional. They usually resolve my questions on the same day. We're a small shop (two paid employees) that awards about $500,000 in scholarships annually. It's the perfect product for us.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

My only dislike is that we can't use our state's area code for texting, which prevents us from using the service.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We began awarding support to our students from a statewide emergency fund. Thankfully, AwardSpring factored special applications into their pricing model as I've needed to establish a special application for each of our seven schools.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the great review and for the feedback about our texting solution. We will bring this up to our texting provider to see if they'll allow us to eventually customize the area codes for our customers and let you know if they give us that option.

 ### 25. Awards Springs is a very easy, functional and informative platform for scholarships.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keyshla H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I like being able to call and getting fast response from the support team.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There really isn't anything I've disliked about Awards Spring. It's a program I'm getting to know and when stuck on something; I call for further support.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us have a good and fast platform for students to apply to scholarships, tracking their progress and just keeping them aware of the process.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for your kind words, Keyshla!

 ### 26. It could be more user friendly

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 29, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

It pairs students with scholarships for which they are eligible.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The reviewer process is convoluted. Downloading giant reports and having to delete hundreds of columns and rows wastes so much time. I want to pick certain items and make a simple report of just the data I need. I also want to be able to make reports from the award and deny screen after I filter applicants; a report with just certain student answers from the select group of qualified applicants for a scholarship or a screen that will just show the answers of the students qualified for a scholarship. Additionally, I am unsure if the EFC and unmet need information is accurate.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Awardspring saves me from having to manually pair up students with scholarships.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thank you for taking time to review our platform, and we're sorry you're not having the best experience. I'd encourage you to reach out to our support line (support@awardspring.com) as we can actually provide all of the functionality you're looking for.

From a reviewer perspective: you're able to configure precisely what a reviewer can see, cutting down the amount of data shown to a manageable amount necessary to execute the review

From a reporting perspective: Once you've filtered down the number of students you're interesting in reviewing, you can modify that page to show just the answers you're interesting in seeing in order to make your awarding decisions

For EFC/Unmet need: If we're pulling in information from your Student Information System via our integration, you should be able to trust these answers. If you're asking students to self-report, we'd encourage you to consider one-time uploads from a trusted source before reviewing/awarding

We can provide more details in a one-off training session, if interested.

 ### 27. Highly Satisfied

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacey W. | Scholarship Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I love the user friendly platform experience this software prvodes to everyone who utilizes it. Wheter that be the person on the back end setting up the system, or student who is applying on the platform for the first time. The reporting tools are great and allow everyone who is responsible scholarship reporting to stay connected year round. The cstomer service we receive everytime we need to troubleshoot an issue, is phenomenal . The ease of integrating our SIS platform with the AwardSpring software was seamless. I utilize the platform daily to assist, departments, students with with any questions they have as it relates to scholarships in general. All round, just a great user-friendly software.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I do not like how on the dasboard area if a student has outstanding task they never go away even after an award year is completed, I also wish the software could intergrate with colleague.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring has helped our college get application numbers up steadily. We have noticied since rolling out this new platform, ever year out student application submittals increase, which will in turn give us leverage to request more donor funding for our scholarship program!

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for your review & feedback, Stacey! We do offer Colleague integration - just reach out to our support team at support@awardspring.com to learn more. As for the dashboard - if you wouldn't mind sending an example of a student or two that's having this issue to our support team, we'll investigate this behavior. Once an award cycle has completed, students shouldn't see past-due tasks (unless they are specific post-award follow-ups - like a thank-you letter - that they have yet to complete).

 ### 28. It is easy to disburse money trough AwardSpring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathas F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

How easy it is to build cycles and save information.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

1) There is no extra field with preferred name. Our oriental students like to put their first name and how they like to be called. We need a space for Last name, first name AND preferred name.
2) When we stop impersonating an user, it would be best to be directed to the account of the user we were impersonatiing instead of the general user tab (in my opinion).
3) When adding additional requirements for scholarships, questions should have the option to have a minimum number of characters and not only a maximum amount of characters. This gives the student the option to not even send an application for review if they wrote one line in their essay question.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thnk you for this question.

**Official Response from Grace Stimson:**

> Jonathas,

Thanks so much for taking the time to review AwardSpring! Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Glad to hear that our solution is helping you throughout all stages of the award cycle!

I wanted to let you know that I've reached out to our product team and they have let me know that your second point about the impersonation UX is a fantastic idea and something they are seriously considering adding to an upcoming release. So keep an eye on the release notes!

For your first and third points, we should be able make this work for you currently! Feel free to reach out to our support team within AwardSpring or via email at support@awardspring.com and let them know what you're trying to accomplish. They'd be happy to help!

Thanks Again!

 ### 29. Wonderful Team of Professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

From the moment the contract was signed, every team member at AwardSpring made sure our platform was ready and performed to our highest expectations. Also, AwardSpring was able to integrate with our Student Information System and use our SSO. This product has improved our entire Scholarship season!!!!

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

We have not identified any downsides at this point. We realized that some of our selection parameters were incorrect, and AwardSpring jumped in to help our organization.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Award pairing process was laborious. Our school has over 30 scholarships, and AwardSpring allows us a fast, sophisticated way to pair students with the correct scholarship opportunities, have a more efficient scoring process, and keep in touch better with our applicants. We love the reports available to us. The most significant benefit is a one-stop (all things scholarship) home portal that is easy for our applicants, scorers, and donors!

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the kind words, Amanda! If you do think of anything we can improve upon, please drop us a note!

 ### 30. Functional Yet Easy to Use Scholarship Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The Customer Service Support is great and always delivers!

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Inability to archive last year's applicants.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing applicants to only apply for scholarships that they qualify. qualified

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the review and the feedback. We've heard from a few customers this desire to archive old/prior cycle applicants and have that in our roadmap to be built (timing tbd). Keep an eye out for roadmap updates to learn more about when we might be building this feature.

 ### 31. Amazing, for the most part

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

How extensive it is and the amount of options we have to ask questions

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

It often crashes or starts acting slow at times.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The review and selection process has been beautifully simplified, I wouldnt want to do it without awardspring now that I know it exists

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thank you for taking time to give us a review. So glad to hear you're finding our platform feature-rich and that you've seen simplification in big areas like review and awarding.

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing performance issues with the platform, however. This isn't normal behavior, so we'd like to work with you to better understand the kinds of issues you're experiencing. At your convenience, please reach out to support@awardspring.com and we can schedule time with you to better understand these performance issues and see if we can come up with a proper resolution.

**Reviewed by:** Alice F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring is easy to use and figure out. If you mess up or can't figure out how to set-up a scholarship qualification their Support Team is excellent.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Nothing is wrong AwardSpring. They are all great!

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring solves our programs of determining who gets which sholarships by sorting them out for us.

 ### 33. AwardSpring has been a game changer for us in scholarship management.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The student application and review process. This really helps us streamline our application, review and awarding timeline.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I wouldn't mind a more customizable reporting system.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us streamline our scholarship process each year.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback. Be sure to check out our "Smart Reports" feature as we've developed reports that put more power in the hands of our users (and plan to continue to build out more of this feature over time).

 ### 34. User friendly, reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The award and review process is simple and straightforward.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I wish text messaging was a standard feature, not an add-on.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved the problem of paper scholarship applications.

 ### 35. Simplified the process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Having everything electtronic has made reviewing the applications so much quicker, easier to get all the required documents from applicants.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Some would be applicants don't want to complete the application online.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is organizing the material and allowing us the summarize the answers. The review time is much quicker.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for taking time to review AwardSpring - so glad to hear you're having a good experience! We have some good tips and tricks for helping make applications easier. You can read about how our texting feature helps drive more applicants here: https://www.awardspring.com/increase-applicants-with-texting OR read more about a general approach to optimizing your application here: https://www.awardspring.com/optimizing-your-scholarship-application.

Of course - we'd welcome the chance to help you live with ideas around driving more completed applications if you'd like. Feel free to reach out to support@awardspring.com for help, and thanks for being a customer.

 ### 36. Best Change we made!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The ease of use is the best thing about AwardSpring. The user interface is so simple to use and it looks great on the computer or cellphone.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

My only dislike is the acceptance process when there are multiple awards. All awards receive the same thank you letter. If a student gets multiple offers, there is not a way to make changes to the thank you letter submitted for each scholarship recieved.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Awarding scholarships in a seamless manner and getting acceptance in a timely manner.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> So great to hear you're happy with the switch to AwardSpring! We hear you loud and clear on the Thank You Letter templates - we have some exciting product changes coming soon to the communications tools and templating options built into the system - so keep your eyes out for those changes.

 ### 37. Enjoying the current upgrades with the system

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I like the latest update on how the scholaship looks- give us more details information.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I want to be able to pull stats from Awardspring - that is not available yet. In our instituition, we would like to know how often we email out students.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really enjoy how helpful and fast the support team works.

 ### 38. Easy to use, build, and apply scholarship platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring makes building the scholarship application super easy. It is easy to troubleshoot and easy to help applicants, references, and reviewers if they run across any problems.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Some of the people trying to send reviews had problems with the email character count as it would not allow them to put their entire email address.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring solves the problem of managing a large number of scholarship applicants. This benefits us because we do not have to manage it ourselves increasing business performance because we are able to focus our energy on other projects.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Great to hear you're having an easier time managing your large applicant pool - that's what we're here for! We're definitely interested to learn more about the reviewer issue with email character counts - if you're up for it, please be sure to send in some details to support@awardspring.com

 ### 39. Friendly and efficient!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I love their friendly and fast customer service. Support is very nice and always willing to help problem-solve and get me what I need! Much better than the Blackbaud system we were using before. Students love it too! Much easier to navigate and a quicker process.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Some of intricacies of the application and reviewing need to be worked out, but a lot of that is on the part of the school rather than on AwardSpring.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy application for students, easy reviewing of applications for reviewers, easy awarding on behalf of the scholarship specialist.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Glad to hear you're having an overall good experience. If you have any suggestions on optimizing the user experience or adding new features, please drop us your ideas - support@awardspring.com

 ### 40. Excellent value and Return On Investment!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve R. | Associate Director Scholarships and Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Web-based, single sign-on; Document Upload, Recommendation Letters and flexible Scholarship Qualifications; online scholarship rating by individuals or groups;

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The notification templates need to be a little more customizable; the security needs to be a little more robust to accommodate decentralized users; integrated data could be behind the scenes a little more elegantly; reporting tool needs to be enhanced but what reporting tool does not need a tweak here and there?

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrates with single sign-on; students only fill out one application; integration and skip logic in the application it keeps it short and focused for a specific student experience even though the application itself if quite extensive

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks so much for the review and your feedback Steve. We hear you loud and clear and have good news:
-We're making a substantial overhaul to our reporting options (with the initial version of some new reporting tools coming out in the next few weeks!)
-We have a lot planned for email and texting templates. Likely in the front half of this year
-We also have some ideas about how to better manage/display data that's been imported, but haven't fully finalized our approach. If you have ideas you'd like to share, our team would love to hear them

Finally, your note on more robust security is an interesting one. We'd love to hear more about what specifically you mean.

You can share your ideas with our customer success team directly at customersuccess@awardspring.com or you can join our user forum below (if you don't have access you can ask at that same email address). Thanks for being a customer!

 ### 41. AwardSpring has been our Awards Solution!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacie B. | Manager, Learner Financial Empowerment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

This platform has worked very well for us. The platform is user-friendly, and the support provided is exceptional! Highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

We wish we could create more email templates.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring has helped us to reduce application fatigue for learners, streamline the review process, and automate previously manual processes.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Glad to hear things have been going well! And we have good news - adding more templates is on our near-term roadmap, so keep an eye out for changes and more options for using templates.

 ### 42. AwardSpring for the Win!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghann N. | Director of Financial Aid, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring is so user-friendly for students, admins, and reviewers. We have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback across campus about using this platform.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The only issue I have is that we are a small campus so many of the users wear multiple hats. This creates an issue with one person needing to be a department admin and reviewer, etc. This would not have changed out mind about purchasing AwardSpring. The pros far outweigh this small issue.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The few technical issues I have had were solved by the call help center at AwardSping quickly.

 ### 43. Overall it's been a good experience. The tech team is very helpful!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

It is a User-friendly platform that has areas of opportunity. Overall does a really good job of managing the scholarship applicants and other types of users.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

Reports can have a level of inaccuracy that make working with this platform a bit challenging. Typically the team is able to get the process cleared with a member of the tech support.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It runs all our scholarship recipient data and stores historical data for many years.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Glad to hear you feel our platform is easy to use. We'd love to hear your ideas on making the platform better - we are constantly adding features and making changes with ease of use and expanded functionality in mind. Furthermore, we'd like to better understand any reporting inaccuracies you're seeing - we've recently made a substantial overhaul to our reporting interface, so perhaps we have to do a better job of training users on how to use this new functionality. Send along any ideas or sample reporting errors to support@awardspring.com

 ### 44. A Phenomenal Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2021

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

Ease of use makes this program run very smoothly. I've been able to train other staff and have a seamless handoff of work due to how easy the software is to learn.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There is nothing off the top of my head that needs improvement. In the past few updates, the software has addressed any previous "wants" our organization has had.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduction of administrative time. A smoothly running program, keeping administrators and applicants happy. As our program has grown, so have the types of scholarships we offer - and the system handles all of them seamlessly.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the feedback. We agree that our email tool can be better and we have plans to upgrade both the usability and functionality of how you can communicate to your applicants, donors and reviewers through our platform. If you have any suggestions - please feel free to send them our way.

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring makes it easy to have all applications in one place and allows users to have one application for many scholarships at once.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I dislike the inability to blind applicant information that is uploaded.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

It is a one stop shop for all your needs!

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping us stay organized and easier for the students to apply.

 ### 46. Happy customer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The personal support you get with AwardSpring is the best part. They are always willing to work with you to find solutions, and to make improvements to the system.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

There are some functions that we would like to see added, but they are working on adding what folks request. I dislike that we have to wait, but we are getting these features in time.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AwardSpring is making our student awards applications process much simpler, our reviewing process much easier, and overall the experience has been great for us.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for the feedback, and keep an eye out for our next release. It's packed with new features!

 ### 47. AwardSpring is the Perfect Fit for Our Scholarship Program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chicago Engineers F. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2020

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring is perfect for our nonprofit organization. We've been with them for several years, and love how the platform continues to evolve to be even more user-friendly for administrators, applicants, and reviewers for each of our annual award cycles.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The submit application button is an issue every year. Students complete every section and many seem to miss that you have to hit submit application in order to be fully done with an application. We've added our own question at the end that says have you completed every section and will not hit submit application, and that's helped but it would still be great if there could be some type of auto-generated email from the system that reminds applicants that they have not yet finished or submitted their application.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

We've recommended AwardSpring to many other local organizations, and have helped a few organizations set up their AwardSpring application portals. Our advice is to try it out. I walked through the program with those who are interested, explaining how we developed our application and demonstrated the ease of use. I also offer to create an applicant account for them, so they can experience the platform as an applicant to see how simple it can be.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application review is very easy with AwardSpring. It's organized and makes it easy to train our volunteers to be reviewers. It's also allowing us to reach more students since most college and scholarship applications are online so students are comfortable using our application from any device.

 ### 48. Best Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert W. | E, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2022

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

AwardSpring's system is easy to use, understand, and train on. All our department's found the system easy to navigate and use. Also, their Customer Service is second to no one. They are always quick to reply and are always very helpful to resolve any problem we have.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

The list of what we dislike is way smaller than what we do love about the system and it mostly revolves around what we were used to in our old system that AwardSpring does not utilize. Once we get accustomed to AwardSpring, I am sure what we miss will be a distant memory.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

You will not find a better customer service team out there before, during, and after product install

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use was our biggest problem with the previous system. Overall, using the scholarship system allows us to focus more on the important things within our scholarship system and not have to manually track the distribution or qualifications for each specific scholarship.

 ### 49. Scholarships made easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin C. | Creative Design Coordinator , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

I think AwardSpring's customer service is top-notch. All my experiences working with their team have been pleasant and efficient interactions. They are knowledgable and quick to solve any problem at hand, including updating their website based off customer feedback.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

I'm not sure if this is a dislike or not -- but the review process for the scholarship seemed to need more explanation for my committee to better score applicants; however, through interacting with customer service, this was resolved.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

If you are considering whether or not to partner with AwardSpring for your scholarship needs -- don't hesitate, because they one of the best in the business (if not the best)! You can count on quality service and excellent customer care.

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think the problems we are solving have to do with solving the financial problems students at our college have that hinder them from completing their education. Through AwardSpring we are easily abled to resolve these financial issues to get them the education they deserve, which in turn affects the lives of these students immensely. I met a student who depended heavily on these scholarships to continue her academic career and she stressed that without them, she would not have been to finish her technical education. So, it does truly matter.

**Official Response from Kurt Reilly:**

> Thanks for taking time to provide this feedback, Justin! We appreciate hearing how we're helping solve the problems our partners are facing. It's also reassuring to know that our support team was responsive and able to help you move past any potential review problems. We're always here if you need us!

**What do you like best about AwardSpring?**

The new feature to allow multiple award cycles is very nice. We also greatly like the SSO to MS365 and the ability to upload student data from our SIS. We like the new feature that a user can be both an admin and a reviewer with the need for a 2nd email address. We like the weekly email that is sent showing if there are any errors in the file uploads.

**What do you dislike about AwardSpring?**

We wish there were ways to archive older students and applicants from prior award cycles.
It also might be nice to have an API that would keep our student data in sync between Jenzabar One SIS and AwardSpring automatically without the need to upload CSV files.

**Recommendations to others considering AwardSpring:**

We have been using it for years, and no complaints and support is very quick & responsive

**What problems is AwardSpring solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before AwardSpring we only had a paper application process, and this allows for new admissions to apply for scholarships easier. It has also made the review of applicants simple.

**Official Response from Daniel Orofino:**

> Hi Diane,

Thanks so much for taking the time to review AwardSpring, we really do appreciate it.

Regarding the exceptions that are generated from the SIS Integration, could you email support@awardspring.com and ask about getting access to them? We have a number of customers managing these directly and they will be able to get you access and training for managing them.
