"Reliable Multi-Office Cloud Phone System, But EOL Updates Disrupt Users"
3.5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

What I like best about 8x8 Work is that it provided a reliable, centralized cloud phone system that worked across many of our offices and gave users flexibility with desk phones, softphones, and mobile access. It allowed us to standardize phone service across locations and made it easy for users to have a direct number without being tied to a physical phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

One of the main things I disliked about 8x8 Work was the frequency of end‑of‑life (EOL) client updates and the disruption they caused. Users were regularly blocked from signing in until the desktop app was updated, which generated repeated IT tickets and confusion, especially when users were unsure whether update prompts were legitimate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Gregg, Thank you for your detailed feedback! We're glad 8x8 Work has successfully unified your offices with flexible, cloud-based communication. We sincerely apologise for the disruption caused by app updates and appreciate your feedback — we'll share it with our team to improve the update experience!

"Powerful Mobility Features, Challenging Setup Process"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I appreciate the mobility that 8x8 Work provides, as I can have my office line always available on my smartphone and tablet. The call recording feature helps with compliance, and I love the flexibility to add additional lines as needed. Video conferencing is also a standout feature for me since it doesn't require any software—it's web-based—making it easy to connect with clients who don't download video conference software on their devices. Plus, the video quality is excellent. I also like how it integrates with HubSpot to track calls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

The admin portal to set everything up can be complex. I almost need to hire a tech person to set up the phone system, auto attendant, and other features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly with Call Transfer & Merge Capabilities"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I like that 8x8 Work is user-friendly, and I can easily transfer and merge calls. It's extremely helpful when I'm away from my desk, as I can answer calls on my cell phone and transfer them if needed. I often have to transfer calls for an associate in another office, and 8x8 Work makes this easy. Merging calls is beneficial too, especially when we have clients speaking different languages, as I can easily bring a translator into the call. The initial setup was extremely easy, taking only about 5 minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

The calls get dropped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

"Detailed Analytics, But Lacks Reliable Support"
2/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I really like the 8x8 analytics feature in 8x8 Work. It's very detailed and allows me to see everything I need to, whether that's for an individual recruiter or for a specific time period. It's thorough and easy to use. We like that it helps us track how many calls are made and how long our recruiters are on the phone, which kind of allows for healthy internal competition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

A big one that's pretty frustrating is that a lot of the times our texts kind of get lost in the system, but I’ve heard that's kind of common for a lot of VoIP systems. This might not be something that 8x8 Work can control. One thing that's super frustrating is that 8x8 Work support is pretty lacking. Anytime we have issues, we go in circles with support, and they end up breaking our stuff more than helping, which is really frustrating. Also, the call quality on the 8x8 app on our phones drops quite a bit. And when we tried to pair it with our Bullhorn account, it just doesn't work well. It doesn't sync very well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Ashlyn, We're glad the analytics are driving productivity and a bit of healthy competition across your recruiting team! We're sorry to hear about the support experience, text delivery issues, and Bullhorn sync challenge, that's not the standard we want to deliver. Please reach out directly to reviews@8x8.com and we'll make sure the right team picks this up properly.

"Flexible and Simple, but Configurations Can Be Pricey"
4/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I find 8x8 Work to be pretty flexible and simple to manage. Our users also seem to navigate the Windows and Mobile apps really well. I personally like using the additional options in the 8x8 app for Windows or mobile instead of the Microsoft Teams calling integration. Also, it's not been super complex to add the Microsoft calling features, and I appreciate that 8x8 has been adding to their toolset, working on more options for linking through to other services and using the API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I'd like to see custom ringtones added as an option, since a few users have asked about this. Sometimes the management dashboard for admins can seem 'flat,' which makes looking for particular options or menus difficult to locate. Adding Microsoft calling features wasn't super complex, but some of the additional API options and two-way sync with write-back used to be lacking. Although 8x8 Work is adding to their toolset, you might need a more robust option if you're looking for additional feature sets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Peter, Great to hear flexibility and ease of use are landing well for your team! Custom ringtones and a more intuitive admin dashboard are solid suggestions we'll pass along. Thanks for the thoughtful, balanced review, feedback like this really helps us keep improving!

"8x8 Work: Reliable All-in-One Communications That Boosts Collaboration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

What I like best about 8x8 Work is its all-in-one communication platform that combines voice calls, video meetings, messaging, and contact center tools in a single system. It makes team collaboration easier and allows businesses to communicate with clients and colleagues from anywhere. The platform is also reliable and integrates well with other business tools, which helps improve productivity and workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

One drawback is that the interface can sometimes feel complex for new users, especially when navigating multiple features like calls, messaging, and meetings in one platform. Additionally, occasional call quality issues or delays can occur depending on internet connectivity, which may affect communication during important meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Sanskar, Thrilled that the all-in-one platform is simplifying collaboration and keeping your team connected everywhere! We hear you on the onboarding learning curve, we're continuously working to make the experience more intuitive for new users. Thanks for the thoughtful and balanced review!

"Effortless Communication, Slight Connectivity Hiccups"
5/5
What do you like best about 8x8 Work?

I love how easy 8x8 Work is to use, and the admin center is great. It helps us connect to clients and between staff nice and easily. We use it with Microsoft Teams, which is great for us as we use the entire M365 suite. Using 8x8 with Microsoft Teams helps us set up our work system easily and facilitates troubleshooting as it is an easy platform. The initial setup was very easy and intuitive, which I really like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8x8 Work?

I do find that sometimes the system will just drop off in terms of the signal, or there might be an issue with one of the ring groups. Eventually, it will resolve itself, but it's quite annoying that it does that in the first place as this will disrupt the day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Alison Stewart of 8x8 Work

Hi Jordan, Fantastic to hear the Microsoft Teams integration is such a natural fit for your M365 workflow! Intermittent signal drops and ring group issues are frustrating — that's not the seamless experience we want for you. Please reach out to support next time it happens so we can investigate rather than letting it self-resolve!
