"Prompt, reliable payment processing with a seamless new loan application feature"
4.5/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

They’ve been there through thick and thin with my business’s payment processing needs. Whenever I call, they respond promptly and make sure my questions are answered. Recently, they added a loan application feature that feels completely seamless for both me and my clients. I’ve encouraged several of my clients to apply, and they’ve all been approved. Overall, it’s been an absolutely wonderful service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

They recently changed their expiration date year code, and you now have to enter all four digits. Not only is it confusing that they didn't let anyone know they were switching it from two-digit to four-digit, but to me is seems entirely unnecessary, especially at the beginning of a millenium. "Seamless Payment and Case Integration for Solo Practices"
5/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

I like the integration with my case, as it allows me to handle bookkeeping, payments, trust accounting, and case management all in one platform which works seamlessly. This integration reduces my administrative workload significantly, letting me focus more on my clients and cases instead of on paperwork. Collecting hourly fees and trust deposits is made very easy, and the platform supports various payment methods, including credit cards, ACH payments, and Affinity, which means I have fewer unpaid invoices. I'm also impressed with their customer service; the team is very responsive, knowledgeable, and takes ownership until issues are resolved. The ability to offer my clients the option to pay over time through Affinity has been a lifesaver and tremendously valuable, ensuring I don’t miss out on unpaid invoices. "Extremely User-Friendly Setup with Excellent Customer Service"
5/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

Extremely user friendly for my staff; easy to set up new users or terminate old employees; excellent customer service Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

only 2 things: 1) there isn't a direct phone number to the chargeback/risk team, however, the person I talk to at the main line always seems to connect directly with risk and get the issue resolved so it isn't that big of a deal, 2) we use the MyCase integration with LawPay, however, when payments are made on an invoice in MyCase, the notes on the transaction don't come through on the accounting reports so I have to go back to MyCase, type in the invoice number to determine which client the payment is for. "Secure, Compliant, and Easy Payments with LawPay"
5/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

LawPay is secure, compliant, and easy to use. My clients say the payment process is very simple, and I feel they are very secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

I don't see any downsides to using LawPay. There is a monthly fee for certain users, that don't have a subscription to the affiliated tool MyCase. Beyond the potential cost, I don't dislike anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Law Pay is THE payment option for lawyers"
4/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

I love how simple it is to use. I also love that it allows for the separation of your Operating and Trust accounts, so there is no confusion or commingling of funds. They have recently added several new features to make it even more easy for both the lawyer/law firm and the clients to use the platform. I am so glad I signed up several years ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

There isn't (or at least I haven't found) a spell-check feature. When I'm creating time entries and then when generating invoices for billing, I don't see where you can spell check your entries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Professional and Convenient Payment Processing"
4/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

I think 8am LawPay presents a professional portal for clients to pay my fee, which is great. I use the quick bill function, which is really convenient when I'm talking to a potential new client. If they agree, I can send them a bill that they can pay on their phone or online, and I get retained right away so I can get to work. I also appreciate the calendar schedule for follow-up payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

I have difficulty tracking when people pay a quick bill versus a regular bill and making sure I look in the right spot to see when payments have come in. So one centralized location showing all transactions received would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy-to-Use, Streamlined for Case Management"
4/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

I like the ease of use of 8am LawPay for both myself and my clients. The platform's user-friendliness made it a key reason for switching from Clio, especially when it comes to ease of use and template creation in managing cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

The templates and case stages automations need improvement. I want more categories for message templates and a feature to click on case stages and give client updates. It would also be great to preload standard forms into client cases by adding a single folder of documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Game-Changer: Secure Online Payments That Integrate Seamlessly with Juris"
5/5
What do you like best about 8am LawPay?

LawPay has been a game changer for our firm. Since the pandemic, we’ve been emailing 99% of our clients invoices. Clients requested an online payment option. LawPay provided that option through their secure payment portal, which integrates with our Juris billing system. We include a payment link on our invoices, which provides a simple and secure payment option for our clients by simply selecting the link provided. There is a separate link to accept client retainers and send payments directly to your client IOLTA account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?

The only downside to 8am LawPay is when a client payment via eCheck is rejected for whatever reason, because LawPay advances the funds to your account as a courtesy, we must reverse the payment until the payment is resubmitted and we can repost the transaction. It's a nice option that they offer but I'd rather the transaction be confirmed and paid before it's available in our account. This has happened only a few times in the years when been using LawPay.
