## AWS Security Hub Reviews
  ### 1. Centralized Security Insights for AWS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dinesh Reddy K. | Data Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about AWS Security Hub?**

As someone who manages multi-account AWS environments and data pipelines, I appreciate how Security Hub centralizes security and compliance findings across services like GuardDuty, Inspector, and Macie. The automated compliance checks for CIS and PCI DSS are especially useful for ensuring data governance without manual overhead. Security Hub’s integration with EventBridge also makes it easy to trigger automated responses, which aligns well with my experience building end-to-end data and ML workflows on AWS.

**What do you dislike about AWS Security Hub?**

While the centralized view is powerful, handling a large volume of findings can be overwhelming without careful filtering or automation. Multi-region and cross-account configuration requires additional setup, which can slow initial adoption. Also, native integration with third-party SIEM tools could be more seamless, as currently, I rely on custom pipelines and Lambda functions to forward alerts for advanced analytics.

**What problems is AWS Security Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AWS Security Hub helps me centralize security and compliance monitoring across multiple AWS accounts and regions. It automatically aggregates findings from services like GuardDuty, Macie, and Inspector, which reduces the time I spend manually checking logs and alerts. This has been critical for maintaining data pipeline security, ensuring compliance with standards like CIS, and quickly identifying misconfigurations or threats that could affect AI/ML workloads. The centralized visibility and integration with automation tools like EventBridge enable faster response and more confidence in our overall cloud security posture.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about AWS Security Hub?**

What I like best about AWS Cloud Security is its granular control and deep integration across AWS services, especially through tools like IAM (Identity and Access Management), AWS Organizations, and AWS Config. These allow precise permission management, automated compliance checks, and centralized governance. Services like AWS GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail make threat detection, auditing, and incident response highly efficient. The scalability and flexibility to tailor security policies to any size or type of workload is also a major advantage.

**What do you dislike about AWS Security Hub?**

What I dislike about AWS Cloud Security is that the learning curve can be steep, especially for newcomers or small teams without dedicated cloud security expertise. The wide range of services and complex configuration options can be overwhelming, and misconfigurations can lead to security gaps if not carefully managed. Additionally, while documentation is extensive, it can sometimes be too dense or fragmented, making it difficult to quickly find practical, real-world implementation guidance.

**What problems is AWS Security Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AWS Cloud Security: Security, Identity and Compliance solves several critical problems related to secure access control, compliance enforcement, and threat detection in cloud environments. It helps ensure that only authorized users and services can access specific resources through fine-grained IAM policies and centralized management via AWS Organizations. Tools like AWS Config and Security Hub help maintain continuous compliance with industry standards by monitoring configurations and aggregating security alerts. Services like GuardDuty and CloudTrail enhance visibility into potential threats and user activity, enabling faster incident response. These capabilities collectively strengthen our security posture, reduce manual overhead, and ensure a more compliant, resilient, and auditable cloud infrastructure.

NA. But sometimes, finding scenario based setups are quite rare.

**What do you like best about AWS Security Hub?**

A central place that shows how your infrastructure complies with the various security standards that you have selected.

**What do you dislike about AWS Security Hub?**

There is some overlap between the various security standards. The biggest irony is that it flags a lack of hardware MFW for AWS root accounts when it has a limitation that only allows one hardware MFA to be added, which works poorly for teams.

  ### 18. Integration for third party applications

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2019

**What do you like best about AWS Security Hub?**

We use Cloudcustodian in our organisation to maintain governance policies and remediate any findings. But we have multiple accounts in AWS to manage and in multiple regions. So to keep a track of all the alerts which were sent through email is not so reliable. Aws then introduced integration of third party apps like cloud custodian to the security hub and now our problem is solved as we can see a graphical interface in the AWS Console.

**What do you dislike about AWS Security Hub?**

Eventhough there are native AWS tools like cloud config, the security hub integrations with third party apps makes customers hard to decide which one to go with. More over the pricing of the security hub is still not clear as to how the billing is done. Instead of enabling security hub in all accounts and then integrating to the apps, they should provide a centralized solution where in a single account should be able to manage all the child accounts.

**Recommendations to others considering AWS Security Hub:**

if you are using any third party tools for governance of Cloud, may be you try to integrate the application to security hub and see the ease of managing things.

**What problems is AWS Security Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is hard to keep track of the policies being implemented across the regions and multiple accounts by looking at the alerts received through emails. AWS Security Hub has provided a solution for this by integrating those applications to the AWS console and we can see a graphical interface of all the accounts and their respective policies being implemented. Moreover it provides a holistic view of the alerts and their status. It makes Auditing easy and reliable.

  ### 19. Centralised Security

I love the fact that I can see all of our security alerts in a single area, and that I'm updated when threats may pose a more serious concern.

**What do you dislike about AWS Security Hub?**

The set up isn't the most comprehensive. It takes a while to get used to the system, but once you do it's well worth the time and headache saved by trying to use other software.

**Recommendations to others considering AWS Security Hub:**

Do it! It'll give you peace of mind.

**What problems is AWS Security Hub solving and how is that benefiting you?**

 - Security threats
