5x was able to enable my team at Upright to quickly stand-up and end-to-end data platform covering Data Ingestion, Warehousing and BI. The experience was almost "turnkey" - we didn't have to worry about integration between tools, managing separate contracts, or many of the other headaches that come up standing up Data Infrastructure.

As a small data team this was critical to let us focus on delivering value to our customers as we scaled from 2 to 7 people. As everything just worked we could deep dive into using the tools and creating assets used across the business.

The benefits of the platform as they continue to add new features such as cost management, reporting and a centralized administration experience - alleviating a common problem with SaaS solutions where you need to manage permissions and other items in multiple places - a data security/governance risk. They also allowed us to lower our costs through their pre-negotiated vendor rates letting us benefit from their scale at our small size. This made it easier to get buy-in on our data strategy - starting small and scaling as we got support.

From a consultancy perspective - 5x has leads that are experts in the various platforms as well as very flexible models that allow them to better serve companies of all sizes. Their novel approach let us flex our team as needed and handle ebbs and flows in work as we needed - they quickly became an extension of the team and liason to the expertise within 5x. If I had to pick any item to "dislike" it's one that's a common problem with consultancies and companies in general. Some members of the team were more effective than others. In the case where this happened we were able to work with 5x to upskill, changing processes and resources quickly to ensure our needs were met. The 5X ingestion tool is user friendly and has allowed us to have custom connectors, enabling us to pull data from all of our disparate sources. One of the biggest selling points of the platform is the ability to have a single IDE for all our data needs. We can now access our most important tools pertaining to data, managing RBAC, monitoring utilization and overall spends all from a single UI.

What has been even more impressive is their Customer Success team. They have been is exceptionally proactive, consistently ensuring that we have all the required support to maximize the value of our investment. They have been great with timely check-ins to personalized support, and their commitment to our success has truly made a significant difference in how we are leveraging their platform. The 5X platform is a great patform for managing our data (it's nice that it's centralized versus logging in to multiple systems). We also use their consultants, essentially, as a part of our team which has been super helpful. They've been great at balancing our requests while also bringing best practices. 5X helped us to build our data platform from scratch, from scoping the problem and insights we needed, to recommended the best tools after evaluating our use cases and then executing and self-manaing the delivery of that requirement inclduing data migration and warehouse optimization to reduce cost. They setup weekly cadence and were always available to help.
