The fivetran platform gives an overview of syncs and is easier/quicker to navigate. **What problems is 5X solving and how is that benefiting you?** 5X has been improving most of our data ingestion. They have provided cleaner code for incremental loads and the ability to easily ingest new tables in python. 5X has also been assisting the migration of all of our logic that was previously in Tableau / Tableau Prep / Alteryx to DBT. We also use them for their consultancy on top of the platform. We;ve had 3 experiences with long term engineers from 5X and they are 3/3. I've never had a better experience with anyone else. **What do you dislike about 5X?** There isnt much to dislike about 5X. Our experience has always been top notch, their team is very approachable and proactive. **What problems is 5X solving and how is that benefiting you?** With 5X onboarded, we are able to have scalable data analytics capabilities without having any data team in-house. Originally our dashboards were inconsistent having different values for the same metrics across different dashboards. They helped us streamline the logic across all dashboards forming a single source of truth. They also helped us optimize our BigQ, bringing down our monthly costs by 65%. ### 7. We had no prior data for the new platform we were launching and no inhouse data analysts to help us build. 5X was walked us through the process, dispelling myths and misunderstandings we had about our data needs and the daunting process ahead of us. Key things that 5X helped us with: 1. Understanding the data pyramid of needs and wants. And showing us where we were and the needs that companies at our stage need. 2. Relieved concerns about creating a solution to meet our needs within a realistic timeframe. 3. Delivered on implementation, with all the proper hand holding to ensure we stayed on track. 4. Excellent communication whenever we had questions, especially with data vendor integrations 5. They really are a one solution shop to abstract away the messy connection points and vendor integrations related to setting up a data platform **What do you dislike about 5X?** We were an early client for 5X, and we were not able to use their new offerings today. Managing and adding additional ETL work would have been even more straightforward if we could access their new integrated IDE. Outside of that, the only other issues would have been the need to have them customize a few select modules, which are more automated today. These are just nitpicky elements that 5X handled for us but would have taken us much longer to do ourselves. **What problems is 5X solving and how is that benefiting you?** We started from scratch building out a data platform. Problems: - Vendor selection for ETL, and data ingestion - Integration into our platforms and visibility for product and marketing to analyze - Speed of integration to meet our product rollout timeframe Benefits to us: 1. 5X built the entire platform - ingestion, warehouse, data modeling and BI 2. The experience was almost "turnkey" - we didn't have to worry about integration between tools, managing separate contracts, or many of the other headaches that come up standing up Data Infrastructure. As a small data team this was critical to let us focus on delivering value to our customers as we scaled from 2 to 7 people. As everything just worked we could deep dive into using the tools and creating assets used across the business. The benefits of the platform as they continue to add new features such as cost management, reporting and a centralized administration experience - alleviating a common problem with SaaS solutions where you need to manage permissions and other items in multiple places - a data security/governance risk. They provide one-stop shopping which creates a better customer experience. Want to try a new product? Hit a button! They also allowed us to lower our costs through their pre-negotiated vendor rates letting us benefit from their scale at our small size. This made it easier to get buy-in on our data strategy - starting small and scaling as we got support. From a consultancy perspective - 5x has leads that are experts in the various platforms as well as very flexible models that allow them to better serve companies of all sizes. Their novel approach let us flex our team as needed and handle ebbs and flows in work as we needed - they quickly became an extension of the team and liason to the expertise within 5x. **What do you dislike about 5X?** If I had to pick any item to "dislike" it's one that's a common problem with consultancies and companies in general. Some members of the team were more effective than others. In the case where this happened we were able to work with 5x to upskill, changing processes and resources quickly to ensure our needs were met. I wasn't disatisfied but it was one area of improvement. **What problems is 5X solving and how is that benefiting you?** 5x helps us to maximize our cost/benefit of the entire data platform. It did this two ways. -Lowering our operational costs by leveraging their Data Platform to easily scale to our needs and leverage the work done by a larger team. -Allowing our team to focus on benefits and value delivery as it just worked. As the platform is a aggregator that offers of mix of existing solutions which they pre-negotiate, integrate, and add unique tools(usage/cost analysis) on top it gave us the freedom to choose the best product for our needs and know it would work seamlessly. Ex. We looked at the Ingestion tools available and chose the one that worked with the SaaS/3rd Party products used on the operations side. One of the biggest selling points of the platform is the ability to have a single IDE for all our data needs. We can now access our most important tools pertaining to data, managing RBAC, monitoring utilization and overall spends all from a single UI. What has been even more impressive is their Customer Success team. They have been is exceptionally proactive, consistently ensuring that we have all the required support to maximize the value of our investment. They setup weekly cadence and were always available to help. There are consultancies who just "adivce", there are vendors who just "do as told", but rare to get partners who advice, do, think and then re-do on their own. 5X is an amazing partner that really thinks and acts for us. **What do you dislike about 5X?** They are so good that one might not build that capability in-house - which is something we thought hard about. But still went ahead with them as the core business for us was using data not building it. **What problems is 5X solving and how is that benefiting you?** 5X is solving execution debt for companies.
