A few tools were removed in the latest versions such as "select by material" tool and the interface is less simple... Moreover I come from vectorial programs such as Autocad and I find it hard to draw approximately with a not-so-consistent system of coordinates. 3ds max layout is very simple, the use of vertex, edge and corner tools for modelling are one of the simplest in comparison to other software's. The pipeline (Import and Export) is also really helpful to transfer your file to other software's like Unity, Unreal Engine etc.
