It can do a lot of modelling tasks quickly and easily. Especially using boolean functions to cut/add objects. Modelling complex NURBS surfaces is very easy in 3DS Max. Great viewport for modeling, a lot of visual effects are available to enhance details. Stability is a good point, I never had big troubles using this software. Not the best software for animation, dummies instead of joints is a useless peculiarity that limits compatibility and introduces potential problems. Max script is not so bad, but the documentation about it is very poor. The user interface is very easy to use and not too overwhelming. The modifiers are easy to operate and are very effective. Max with Vray plugin does some really good renders, very realistic and great for Architectural projects or interior design or game development. It has a user friendly interface. It has ports in it which allow you to view all views front top side and 3d at single time. It has inbuild 3d real world objects like doors windows trees which is easy to make. The edit poly feature gives the precision and accuracy to your models. It has inbuild materials of vast variety which is very helpful in rendering like architecture rubber glass silicon etc. The uv mapping also works very precisely and gives real world look.
