## About 3D Cityplanner
3D Cityplanner is a powerful 3D software that is transforming the way urban development projects are being planned and executed. It enables urban planners to create virtual 3D models of cities, streets, buildings and other structures. This makes it easier to visualize how a project will look like in the future, as well as identify potential problems before they arise. 3D Cityplanner also allows for easy collaboration between stakeholders, since all data can be shared in a single platform. This makes it easier for everyone involved to stay on top of changes and make sure the project is moving forward in the right direction. Ultimately, this leads to better results and more efficient projects that are completed on time and within budget.

## 3D Cityplanner Reviews
  ### 1. Very good experience. Generates good/feasable solutions adapted to the European building typology.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristian S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2024

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

I like most of the software. You just need to further develop it with more and more function
It is very easy to use.
The graphic of the project area is very nice. It's easy to understand the project layout and design even if you are not a specialist.
I like that the generated solutions have also roads, parking and green areas. You need to add the function for the ground parking generator/solver.
The updates you added to your Generate funcion are incredible... Keep up the good work and keep investing in that function. It`s the most valuable part of the software.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

- The project can't be exported in a format accepted by BIM softwares. I didn't manage to import the 3D model in Archicad.
- The terrain topography can be modelled so no cut&fill information. For some terrains this is very important.
- The graphic design of the interface (buttons, icons) doesn't follow the current trends in graphic design and looks a little bit like a game interface.
- The report content should be customisable and exportable in a printable version (word/excel/pdf)
- The generate function for unit layout should also have the option for multiple variants.
- No apartment plan solver.
- No area parking solver.
- No environmental analysis (Sunlight, daylight, wind, view analysis, internal daylight anaylis)
- No economic report (building cost/operational cost)

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to generate solutions and reports

  ### 2. 3D Cityplanner, Great to use and I recommend it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahmoud e. | 2d,3d,Media & Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

A wonderful program to use in the sense that it does not require a professional 3D designer, especially since it creates complete models of cities and large, vast-area plans with details that require tremendous time and effort.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

I think it lacks some of the fine details in making models professionally, but despite that, it is suitable for beginners or even companies that need to make a presentation about some of their work.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building vast areas of cities and plans in a very short time, with the blink of an eye, which addresses complex design problems that require a lot of time and effort.

  ### 3. Very helpful, but a bit frustrating.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linus H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2023

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

Its a great tool to use early on in the planning process. You can quickly visualize how a planned area could look without having to make everything in a 3D modeler.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

3D Cityplanner is still in its early phase of development, and this means that its not yet optimized in every aspect. I had some trouble with saving and projects disappearing, which is never fun.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a great tool for visualizing a project in its early phase. It has many great tools that enables you to draw the entire project in just a couple of hours. This helps us with comparing different solutions and ideas, and in the end it leads to us creating a better city for our citizens

  ### 4. Positive first impressions after trial period, good feedback from team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

Very feature rich, auto generate layouts, ease of use

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

Overview of data sometimes difficult to find, but I have only just started to use 3D Cityplanner and it will require some more testing

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick design/massing and instant feedback on numbers, quick import of context data

  ### 5. I found in my hands lots of creativity. Wether it was creating my own city or adding to a city.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2023

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

How you have the freedom of actual creativity, you can design anything you can.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

How much power it takes up of the computer running it.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm just trying to use this for schoolwork for a digital design project.

  ### 6. 3D Cityplanner could (and should) be the bridge between GIS and BIM based building design.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul S. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2022

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

What I liked the most about 3D Cityplanner is the nice and intuitive interface. But above all, the possibility to add all these interesting and useful layers. Existing buildings, regulations, noise zones, trees, city lights, sun study, you name it and it's there. Essential info to enhance the basic quality of a project in the early design phase. The financial reports and floor area reports are also great tools to check a project's feasibility. And the pricetag is very competetive.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

I would love to see a connection between 3D Ciyplanner and the ifc standard. I work with Archicad and my workflow needs to link with Archicad zones, via an updatable ifc export, to the 3D Cityplanner.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On one hand, it's the GIS data that gives important information about the building site and its surroundings. In todays practice this knowledge is harvested from an endless series of documents, time-consuming and difficult to combine this complex information. On the other hand, it's the possibilitiy to optimize the building's basic layout, based on floor area calculations and financial reports. Way more efficient than the need to put all the info in Excel sheets.

  ### 7. Great tool for beginners of visualisation and modeling in 3D

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nina R. | Verkoopmedewerker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2022

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

The simplicity and the calculating tools. I also find the opportunity to load in the integrated data layers convenient. Modeling 3D buildings goes fast and precise.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

The possibility to do urban area analysis, such as climatic analysis, water maintenance, solar studies and visibility/exposure studies.
Also, I miss more opportunities to texture buildings and realistic landscaping textures.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the parts that I disliked. So there will most likely be area analysis opportunities coming up.

  ### 8. A pretty okay software, with a lot of potential

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joris B. | verkoop/magazijnmedewerker , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2022

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

I liked the ease with which you could construct buildings and plans. The fact that it automatically calculates the cost is great.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

It is not always clear which costs mean what, and how you would add other costs that the program typically doesnt have. I also really dislike how that current buidlings cant be included in the plan. You have to either remove them all, or have them stand in the way for the whole project.

**Recommendations to others considering 3D Cityplanner:**

It's a neat tool, but I wouldn't base my project on it

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me the greatest use for this software is to measure how much space I'm really using, how many apartments a building bloc would be able to house, and how much it will approximately cost.

  ### 9. Very useful for a planned economy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2022

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

The reports that 3Dcityplanner provides after you have filled in the buildings in a project area give a very clear overview of the plan. It indicates what the total program of the plan is and how much money it generates. Additionally, it also shows the costs involved. These figures are very accurate. There are also various graphs that show the planning costs in relation to time.
Thanks to the information the reports provide, it is very easy to see if a plan is feasible, and I find that very useful.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

I find it unfortunate that the buildings cannot yet be accurately drawn in the program due to the grid that must be adhered to. As a result, you can't place the building exactly where you wanted it. Different shapes of buildings are also not yet possible.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By means of this program, I no longer had to calculate all the board costs and plan revenues myself, but I could simply take them from the financial report. Also, by means of 3Dcityplanner, I could clearly display in which phases the project is built, by means of the subareas and timeline.

  ### 10. Nice

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about 3D Cityplanner?**

Useful to be able to quickly draw up houses and immediately see the costs. It's also handy that you can adjust these costs. The small screen at the bottom right where you can do this could be a bit larger.

**What do you dislike about 3D Cityplanner?**

It is not convenient that the financial overview also includes all the items that have not been used. For example, the list states that you have added zero trees for zero euros. That is not so relevant then.

**What problems is 3D Cityplanner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is quickly possible to see how many homes you can fit somewhere. This can be a handy tool prior to designing, so you already have an idea of the number of homes. That saves time.
