What I like best about Civil 3D is its ability to handle complex civil engineering designs in a very structured and efficient way. The tools for creating surfaces, alignments, and profiles are quite powerful and save a lot of time compared to doing things manually. I also find the dynamic update feature very useful—when you make a change in one part of the design, it automatically reflects in other related elements, which reduces errors.
Another thing I appreciate is its integration with AutoCAD, which makes it easier to work if you are already familiar with AutoCAD basics. Overall, it helps in improving productivity, especially for infrastructure and land development projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I dislike about Civil 3D is that it can be quite heavy and sometimes slow, especially when working with large or complex projects. It also has a steep learning curve, so it takes time to fully understand all the features and workflows.
Another issue is that occasional crashes or lag can interrupt work, which can be frustrating. Some tools and settings are not very intuitive, so you often need to spend extra time figuring things out or searching for solutions. Overall, while it is powerful, it could be more user-friendly and stable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
