Bizarre game of hot potato navigating between a webapp (website), Chrome extension, and desktop app is necessary to get work done. Accessing information in vault from Chrome extension suddenly requires 10 seconds for no reason. Mistyping the password a couple times seems to cause master password not to be accepted anymore (?). What do you dislike about 1Password? It lacks extremely basic business/enterprise features. For example, the Watchtower functionality that is supposed to scan for weak and reused passwords simply does not work at an org level; it can't scan user's private vaults. So as an IT admin, one must ask every single employee to manually review the Watchtower reports themselves. Like that's going to happen. Either that, or ask everyone to put all their passwords into shared vaults, which then allows admins to view all of them (a potential security risk) and also increases the risk of the user sharing the vault with someone else accidentally. There's also no way to disable the "security key" feature, which is confusing to users and is not necessary in an organization that already uses hardware security keys, such as YubiKeys. While Business Watchtower reports will only show results from shared vaults, users always have individual access to Watchtower, and Watchtower alerts for reused and weak passwords will still appear to individual users apart of a 1Password Business account. Difficult to get to account settings, or to view your overall vaults. Customizing password generation is impossible, difficult to figure out simple things like setting up 2-factor auth even when prompted. Overall prettier than other apps like Lastpass or Bitwarden (both of which I've used extensively, daily for 2yrs+ each) but it's much harder to use. What do you dislike about 1Password? - A new window is opened after you login through the 1Password X Google Chrome extension (this is pretty annoying) - Generated password can't be saved, the error is "There is no access to the Internet" (after logging in on 1password.com, using a 2FA, the password is saved, not sure that was the actual fix for the issue) - Login accounts are not synced in a single account when it's used in 2 Google Chrome browser instance with 2 different accounts. - The so-called "secret key" - I get the idea what's it for, but the way it's done leads to putting on places where it's not supposed to live. That's great to hear you're staying organised with separate vaults, though I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with our usability. It's awesome to hear you're using 1Password X - it's designed to be fully functional in-browser without the desktop apps. When you first set up 1Password X, you'll sign into your account through the online web interface. From then on, you should only need to sign into the new window when editing an item or adding a new 1Password account to 1Password X. You'll sometimes be asked to add your account details again i.e. if you clear your browser history. If you're interested, we have a guide all about 1Password X here: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-1password-x/ Your membership syncs and back ups automatically, so as long as you're using the same 1Password account across the two different Chrome profiles, your data should automatically sync. The error you're seeing when attempting to save a new generated password can appear when 1Password X needs re-authenticating by signing into the 1Password.com account. If you're having trouble syncing or saving your new passwords, please let us know and we can dive in and investigate what may be happening. Your Secret Key works with your Master Password – which only you know – to encrypt your data and keep it safe. It's added to your Emergency Kit, which we recommend storing in a safe place i.e. printing a copy to keep in a safe deposit box, someone you trust like your spouse or someone in your will, or even to your personal cloud storage. I like 1password's clean user interface. It is slicker than LastPass, another password manager I use. 1password's sign up interface was also smoother, and I appreciated their secure password suggester. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about 1Password? The tool falls short in several areas. First, it does not seem to have a chrome extension that allows for pre-filling of forms, automatic log in, or automatic new password saving. It's a hassle to open 1password to find the correct login information. Second, the team feature only allows for password sharing within a predefined team. Sharing with a single person - or even a slightly different group - requires a whole new team to be made by the administrator.
