The accounting software is something I like because it helps me create invoices, bill clients, and keep track of my checking and credit card accounts. **What do you dislike about 1-800Accountant?** Communication is a bit lacking sometimes. When it came close to April 15, I hadn't heard from anyone, and I was getting very nervous. Sometimes the checking account and credit card account are not synced correctly and they're behind by a couple of days. So the numbers are not always accurate. I would appreciate a little more hand-holding as I am a new business, and I still don't know exactly what I'm doing. And when I was first sold this 1-800-accountant service, I was promised that I was going to get someone who was going to help me reconcile my books. And now it seems like I don't have anyone to help me reconcile my books. I'm not quite sure how to do it by myself, and I was sold that somebody was going to help me with it, and yet no one has helped me with it yet. **What problems is 1-800Accountant solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1-800Accountant helps me with taxes for my new business and personal taxes. They also offer accounting software for invoicing and tracking accounts, although sometimes the account syncing isn't timely. ### 3. From there, the communication just stopped. We had supposedly set a plan in action, but they took no action and had very little to poor communication. One-word responses, etc. **Recommendations to others considering 1-800Accountant:** My company signed up with 1-800Accountant on May 15, 2026, and paid $3,419 for accounting services. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. Our initial consultation left us with concerns regarding the advisor's familiarity with our situation and the overall value of the service. Following that meeting, communication was inconsistent and often unhelpful. We reached out through the client portal and live support channels seeking clarification and assistance, but the responses we received did not adequately address our concerns. One particularly frustrating aspect of the experience was being told that we had not sufficiently utilized available support channels, despite having already contacted support and attempted to resolve issues through the methods provided by the company. As a result of the initial consultation, subsequent communication issues, and an overall loss of confidence in the service, we elected to cancel within the company's published 30-day cancellation period. At the time of this review, no substantive tax preparation, bookkeeping, or accounting deliverables had been completed on our behalf. We have requested cancellation and a refund pursuant to the company's Terms of Service and are awaiting final resolution. I am sharing this experience so that prospective customers can make an informed decision. Nearly everything I was told was along the lines of 'we can't help with that.' despite it being in our scope. When they did prepare taxes, they were inaccurate and significantly late, which caused us fees for items we needed them for. They were disorganized internally and unable to communicate with each other. They even owe *us* money and in addition, never processed my cancellation last year. There was no communication between team members. They missed important deadlines, even though we provided everything months in advance. The portal rarely worked, sent messages to wrong users, sending sensitive business files to my ex husband and vice versa, and files regularly disappeared. Representatives told us to bypass the portal as it didn't work properly. When they sent taxes through DocuSign, they had wrong names and signature fields. Everything they did was sloppy and incorrect. We had a different accountant or account manager every week it seemed (that's hyperbole, but it was typically different by every third or fourth message). We needed back taxes adjusted and re filed for another legal matter deadline. The months long delay meant we may not make the deadline and have to pay a thousands-dollars more filing fee. When I spoke with the gentleman (Rubio I think) in escalation, he assured me that we WILL still make the deadline or 1800 will pay the additional fees we incur. I asked and confirmed 2 or 3 times on that call to confirm he was truly guaranteeing this. That deadline came and went with no tax return, no communication, and the actual file was received days after the deadline with no explanation, and sudden amnesia to that guarantee despite me confirming with that person that the call was recorded and could be referenced if needed. We literally felt held hostage by them, and canceled once we finally received the last return. To top it off, today, I got an auto renewal notice indicating the cancelation must not have been processed, which is what prompted me to come here as apparently I've paid another two years? I've never, ever worked with a more disorganized and deceitful company. **What problems is 1-800Accountant solving and how is that benefiting you?** 1-800Accountant did not solve any problems. They provided inaccurate tax preparation, poor internal communication, and missed deadlines, causing late fees. ### 5. So imagine trying to figure this all out on your own for the first time, paying for support, and then basically not being able to get ahold of anyone that is actually supposed to give you the support. Awful, chaotic, time suck of a mistake **What do you dislike about 1-800Accountant?** Ugh, the chaos. I have been a customer for 23 LONG days and am now asking for a full refund. This is NOT for solopreneurs, and I can't imagine it would be a good fit for anyone. I am frustrated at the lack of communication when I attempted to salvage the relationship - no one responded. You did me a favor. P.S. Beware if they tell you you can get a refund if you cancel with them within the first 30 days. They are not always quick to respond, but they do eventually get back to you. I also like the ability to schedule an appointment with the accountant if you have that service available to you. **What do you dislike about 1-800Accountant?** The account reconciliation features are not the easiest to navigate and the reports feature is also not the greatest. I've used some other online accounting software for small businesses that are much more user-friendly and intuitive. **What problems is 1-800Accountant solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was able to file my business and peronal taxes through them this year, but both were late and I had to file extensions. They didn't do a great job of letting me know when things needed to be submitted to them to give them enough time to make sure the documents were submitted to the IRS on time.
