# Perché il Pool di Ether?

Ogni Ambiente ha accesso a un Pool di Ether con 1 miliardo di Ether (ETH). Questo Ether è specifico per un ambiente e non può essere trasferito al di fuori dell'ambiente. In un'implementazione blockchain con permessi (cioè Kaleido), l'Ether non è necessario per inviare transazioni, distribuire smart contract, ecc. poiché il prezzo del gas è impostato a 0. Tuttavia, alcuni casi d'uso potrebbero desiderare l'uso di Ether. Ad esempio, l'Ether potrebbe essere utilizzato per dare priorità al mining delle transazioni o per imporre i costi dei smart contract.
