# Is Tidio legit?

Yes. Tidio is a legitimate customer support software company founded in 2013. It operates as Tidio LLC in the United States and Tidio Poland sp. z o.o. in Poland. The company serves over 300,000 businesses and is used by brands including The Body Shop, Under Armour, and Jaguar. 

Tidio:

1. Processes personal data in line with GDPR, CCPA, Nevada privacy laws, and other applicable regulations. It is also certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU–US DPF, and the Swiss–US DPF.

2. Protects data in transit with TLS 1.2+ and 256-bit SSL certificates. Data at rest is protected using AES-256 encryption, and sensitive information such as passwords and card tokens is protected with one-way hashing methods.

3. Is hosted on Amazon Web Services in ISO-certified data centers located in the EU. AWS provides infrastructure security, redundancy, DDoS protection, monitoring, and regional failover.

4. Runs annual penetration tests with independent security specialists. These include black-box and grey-box testing, and findings are tracked through Tidio’s secure development process until resolved.

5. Supports two-factor authentication using time-based one-time passwords through apps such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Users can enable 2FA in the Tidio panel under Settings > Account > Password.

6. Has completed a SOC 2 Type 2 examination. More information and supporting documentation are available through the Tidio Trust Center.

7. Follows U.S. Export Administration Regulations and applicable EU dual-use regulations. Access is blocked from jurisdictions that are comprehensively sanctioned by OFAC or the EU.
