Most illustrators use both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, but the choice depends on the type of work they do.

Illustrator is mainly used for vector-based work like:

* Logo design
* Icons
* Branding
* Typography
* Banners
* Scalable illustrations

The biggest advantage is that vector graphics stay sharp at any size.

Photoshop is more commonly used for:

* Photo editing
* Digital painting
* Image manipulation
* Texture work
* Raster-based artwork

Many professional designers combine both software in the same workflow. For example, a logo may be created in Illustrator while textures or presentation mockups are finished in Photoshop. I personally prefer Illustrator more for logo and banner design because of its vector workflow and precision.

¿Te refieres a un Diseñador? La respuesta es más a menudo Illustrator para diseño vectorial y otros contenidos de diseño.

Esto depende completamente del estilo, el tema, etc. La respuesta es "sí"; pero "Ilustrador" es un término muy vago, similar a "Diseñador". Cuando se trata de ilustración digital, Adobe Illustrator y Adobe Photoshop cumplen roles muy diferentes en términos de para qué se utilizan. Ni siquiera son remotamente intercambiables. Los ilustradores técnicos - por ejemplo, ilustradores que quizás renderizan diagramas de hardware, por ejemplo - Adobe Illustrator es la herramienta de elección para muchos. Pero, un Ilustrador de Personajes o Artista de Entornos que trabaja en un videojuego, Photoshop será más aplicable.

Yo diría ambos, ya que hay algunas funciones que son más fáciles de usar en ambos programas. Te hace sentir libre de lo que puedes hacer.

¿Los ilustradores usan Photoshop o Illustrator? ¡Pues, usan ambos! Depende de lo que necesiten para sus ilustraciones. Photoshop es excelente para editar y manipular imágenes, mientras que Illustrator es perfecto para crear ilustraciones basadas en vectores. Se trata de elegir la herramienta adecuada para el trabajo.
