# Will future template events support order of steps as a constraint for execution?

I would prefer that a template event is only evaluated in the order of the list. Editing and supporting complex routing is very difficult when the list shuffles and the event executes multiple times due to workflows that must return to an earlier evaluator.

Great question Walter! Sounds like you are looking to move a form through a step-by-step workflow (not through an actual workflow tool, but similarly to how it works).

Template events don’t fire in any particular order! Meaning, if you have a template event to email person A and person B when the form is completed, but you want person B to only receive the form if person A has already received it, you can’t with Template Events because they will just all fire in a random order (like you’re experiencing now).

Our solution to this will be allowing users to create custom statuses for forms and at every status, they can have automation(s) triggered once it meets that status.
