# Why can't you post reels and carousel posts directly?

When scheduling these types of posts why don't they post automatically? Why do you have to get a notification rather than them posting like they're scheduled?

I just wanted to update here that you can now post both Instagram Reels and Carousels directly through HeyOrca! I hope this helps anyone looking for information in the future. :)

It's a platform API issue that does not let other 3rd party applications have access to direct publishing (...yet).

You can now post Insatgram reels through HeyOrca but you still cannot post carousels. I believe they are working on it.

This is Stephanie from the product team at HeyOrca. Unfortunately it is not possible to publish reels and carousel posts directly through the Instagram API . We are watching for updates and will totally implement this if it becomes available through Instagram for scheduling tools!
