# What&#39;s an easy way to project a 3D shape onto a flat surface, without Sandbox breaking the geometry?

When I project a 3D geometry onto a flat surface using the sandbox tools, it breaks the geometry at corners. This makes bringing topo lines from CAD into Sketchup for modeling very difficult.

Please share an example of this in image format, in essence this is possible with projection tools.
