Besides G2 icons, I belong to some product centered communities like Streamlit, NocoDB, Supabase and Deta.spaces this helps me to be updated about news and ask questions directly to the products' team. Besides I have some almost private communities in WhatsApp groups one is about Data Science with other professionals in Colombia and Colombian user groups about other development platforms.

I belong to a few like Xfinity, Midjourney, and Reddit. I really don't have time to engage on many of them.

Thanks for answering Nanci! That's really interesting that you're part of the Xfinity community. I'm sure it's helpful to connect with other Xfinity users and troubleshoot problems you may be encountering together!

Nextdoor can be hit or miss. I gave up on it when people would often start posting about a couple of suspicious-looking men walking through the hood. When asked why they thought they were suspicious... 😬🫢

Now I am most active on Reddit, Twitch, and Discord. I still use TikTok, but not as much anymore, as most people are creating content to become famous, and it's evident. The honesty is gone.

Since so much of my work deals with Facebook and Instagram, I tend to stay away during off hours.

Thoughtful feedback, thanks Brian! Reddit is also a large community that can offer many benefits to its members. I know I've been guilty of going down Reddit rabbit holes at times!

I'm leery of Nextdoor because I've heard of some ridiculous drama on that site, and I've personally seen some crap in Facebook neighbourhood communities as well haha.

I used to be part of a few awesome communities on Reddit, but recent actions by the company and its CEO have made me decide to basically quit using that site. A friend of mine is the developer of the most popular Reddit client for iOS, and Reddit behaved very poorly and made decisions that shut most third-party apps down. It sucks because I found some very niche, active communities around hiking, camping, guitar pedals, Fuji cameras, etc.

I'm in a handful of Facebook groups that are decent, but I've found you have to find one that is very specific and not too big, otherwise, the quality goes downhill quickly!

Hi Stephanie!

This question would make for a stellar G2 Icon Community "Event" 😊

Best,

🇳🇱 👋

Mark
