# What kind of authentication and access control capabilities are included in EFT?

EFT offers a built-in authentication provider that we call Globalscape authentication, or EFT can connect to external user databases (NTLM/AD, LDAP, ODBC) for user authentication, without the need to create the accounts manually in EFT. EFT also supports RADIUS, RSA® SecurID®, SMS, CAC, and SAML Web SSO for multi-factor authentication.
