Solidworks is a solid modelling tool that best describes it as a tool which can model the complex machine components and mechanisms.
Also Solidworks has a lot of other add in that help you to do the surface modelling and structural model long. It also has a vast library of standard parts and sheet metal processes.
It’s a software that helps you to understand the desinging process easily

Design 3D CAD Engineering models
2D technical drawing creation for the purpose of testing, prototypes and finally manufacturing your product.
