In Photoshop, if you zoom in 400%, everything looks like a Minecraft block. That’s because it’s made of pixels. Illustrator uses Vectors. It’s basically math. You can take a tiny logo you made for a business card and scale it up to the size of an Burj Khalifa billboard.

It works on desktop, laptops and mobile devices, and its great designs can end up in print, on the web and in apps, in videos and animations, and more. It is user friendly and has very similar tools that are compatible and work out using Adobe Programs.

It's for making vector graphics. It's especially useful for logos or other designs that need to be scaleable.

Illustrator is a vector based program. Great for illustrations. Your draw a curvy line and you'll get exactly that. Verse other programs that will use pixels or squares to make up that curvy line.

Create designs, layouts, icons, logos, illustration, packaging designs. the main characteristic is that it works with vectorial graphics so there is no resolution limitation.
Of course you can ad pictures but is not the software to edit them.
