# What is the recommended choice/mix of Bitwarden product(a) for macOS desktop users?

Are there any industry standards or recommended configurations of product selection, namely within Mac OS environments that use both Chrome and Safari browsers? More specifically and simply, is the Bitwarden macOS desktop designed and/or is it equipped enough to be used as the exclusive platform in such environments, or will the sometimes-clunky browser extensions always be necessary?

Hey Luke, great question!

Have you tried using the persistent sidebar in Firefox? https://bitwarden.com/blog/quick-guide-bitwarden-client-apps/#browser-extensions

I would also love to hear more about what would improve your experience with the Bitwarden Browser extension!
