The main purpose of Storyboard is to allow software developers and UI designers to work together to create GUI applications that will provide customers of their products with exceptional UI/UX. 

Storyboard was developed to separate the front-end GUI design from the back-end framework so that both teams could work independently and not hold the other up in their development process. This also enables the UI to be updated via multiple rounds of iterations to perfect the UI/UX without casing a complete teardown and rebuilding the back-end code.
