# What is the best way to organize Fusion 360 models to make grouping parts more intuitive.

My assembly contains over 200 individual components, and managing these components is difficult in OpenBOM as a result of the confusing way that subassemblies are organized into groups. OpenBOM struggles to keep groups of components and subassemblies organized in an easy-to-understand way. This makes grouping components even more difficult given Fusion 360's poor subassembly management and lack of part folders. However, OpenBOM is helping solve the issue of communicating the details of CAD assemblies by streamlining the process of compiling part details into an easy-to-understand list.

Hello Nethan, this is a great question! Unfortunatley, Fusion360 has a somewhat confusing system or identifying components. Internally, every component in Fusion 360 has an ID, but it is very easy to copy/paste and duplicate them by creating components with different IDs. OpenBOM uses internal IDs to identify the uniqueness of components (Not names). We are considering adding a new feature (group by name or part number). I'm happy to discuss it and see if it can help.
