# What is the best way to archive old documents in an admin view?

when trying to organize documents so the groupings are in order that employees with find it during open enrollment I copy prior documents that are inactive. We also occasionally research prior coverage's for answers and resolutions so I do not want to delete them from the system but having to sort through all that was posted since the beginning of time is already becoming distracting.

Thank you for reaching out with this question. 
To archive your documents from employee view go to Company > Library > Documents > Hit Edit by the document and select "Archive From Employee View" and Save. 

Once this is selected, anytime you view the library you will see a red "archived"  tag next to the archived documents. 

From there it would be a best practice to create a folder for all archived documents in order to keep them organized and in one place. 

To create this folder from the document library page Hit Actions > Add folder  > Name it what you prefer and save. 

Once created you can go into each archived Document > Hit  "Edit"  and select the name of the newly made archived folder and press save
