# What is the best environment to develop java?

Eclipse is the best option, do not waste time using any other.

According to me, i think Eclipse is the best development environment as you can just not only work with JAVA but also with other languages. It is an open source tool with many useful plugins and features.

Hi, it depends if you want a free version or not.
I would suggest IntelliJ Ultimate because the community edition is very limited but the ultimate is not free.
Eclipse is free and fits very well also, maven is installed by default, J2EE features are also available and the marketplace contains a lot of useful plugins.
