A headless CMS is a content management system that provides a way to author content (our UI/Dashboard), but instead of having your content tightly coupled to a particular output (like web page rendering or mobile app), it provides your content as data over an API. This enables your technology teams to pick and choose which outputs (website, app, mobile site) you send your content to.

ButterCMS is really versatile. The purpose of ButterCMS is to enable content editors and marketers to make updates and additions to their digital marketing content that shows up on any device or medium without calling on a developer to publish them live.
