OpenSUSE Linux is the open-source development base for SUSE Linux. It uses the Linux kernel as its base and distributes RPM packages, unlike Debian, which in turn inherits features from other distributions such as Ubuntu. A key feature of OpenSUSE is that it has the YaST Manager, which is like a control panel.
