Cloud based Directory of Users and Devices (Mac, Linux and Windows).    Can be used for unifying User Authentication  (supports Oauth, SAML, LDAP, Radius and others via API).   Workstation policies can be managed centrally for Mac, Linux and Windows PCs, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.

Jumpcloud is a little bit of everything - up front it is a replacement for on-prem identity management systems (LDAP, Active Directory, etc.), but it can integrate with those, if you need it to.  It can also help support cloud-based sso, and user self-management of passwords. It can do MDM and remote scripting, and is all managed through a light touch client software that is monolithic-imaging friendly.

It's main purpose is to act as a cloud-based active directory replacement. However, you can also manage just about any smart device or PC, including deploying scripts and using policies.

JumpCloud is an identity provider that allows you to consolidate all of your authentication/logins, apps and devices, to a Single Sign-On experience for your users.   But JumpCloud is also a whole lot more and is the new best of breed for IT authentication and device management.
