Grist can be used for almost anything a spreadsheet can be used for. Grist is particularly effective when you need your data to be organized and properly structured, as it's built like a database. This means that relating info is super easy, so you don't have to duplicate information. 

Often, a team uses Grist as the main source of truth for data, and different types of users have associated permissions that give them visibility only to the data they need. Different dashboards based on this one data set let you visualize/work with your data without spinning off copies and complicating the source data.
