### Comment 1

Full disclosure: I work on GraphComment — here's a straight, factual answer to the pinned question.

GraphComment is a comment system that publishers add to a website to host the discussion under their articles or pages. It's used to replace or upgrade a site's native comments — most often on WordPress through a native plugin, but also on Drupal, static sites, and custom CMS platforms via a universal JavaScript embed, so the same commenting layer works across an entire publishing stack.

Publishers typically use it for four things. Engagement: threaded discussions, replies, votes, real-time updates, and social login to lower the barrier to commenting. Moderation at scale: structural anti-spam — the native comment endpoint is closed to bots, so spam is blocked at the source rather than merely filtered — plus AI-assisted moderation, included on every plan. Data ownership and privacy: EU-hosted, no third-party ad tracking, and on WordPress (v5) comments sync back into the native database, so publishers keep their data and avoid lock-in. Migration: importing existing comments from Disqus, WordPress, or other systems, so switching doesn't lose history.

In short, it's used by bloggers, media sites, and businesses that want an engaging, spam-resistant, privacy-respecting comment section they genuinely own — as an alternative to Disqus, wpDiscuz, and similar tools.
