We use the tracking to measure how many open our emails get and how many clicks various links receive. It's been helpful to know where most people are finding information. For example when we include a link to sign up on a Monday email, the event owner saw an increase in sign ups on monday and tuesday, so we can see that there was a high number of clicks on the link in the email infer that the email link inclusion drove sign ups.
