A learning management system — you can distribute courses or training to students or employees using videos, live classrooms, documents, etc.  Students can collaborate with their groups or the whole class, submit assignments to dropboxes, take assessments and have their work reviewed with feedback from the instructor or trainer.  The content can be organized in modules by topic or by the day/week or in other ways to make the flow easier for the person completing the course/training.  Notifications can be sent through the announcements to the person’s email, if there are changes to the schedule or important messages need to be communicated.  One place for everything course/training related.  Also, great for storing committee and meeting minutes or recordings of those events.  There are reports/statistics that show the instructor or trainer where or what the student/employee has reviewed and provides details on what has/hasn’t been completed in the timeframes specified.
