A risk analysis (you can find in HIPAA Ready) includes a company's whole IT infrastructure, company policies, administrative procedures, physical security controls, and all devices, systems, and tools that can store, transmit, or come into contact with ePHI.

Laptops are among these devices. An organization's risk assessment is a requirement for having HIPAA-compliant laptops, and it will give companies crucial information on how to improve or implement laptop security measures.
