A 1C application is a software solution built on the 1C:Enterprise platform. The platform itself is a low‑code development environment — you write configurations using a specialized high‑level language, not from scratch.

What does that mean in practice?

1) Standard accounting configurations (like "1C:Accounting") handle charts of accounts, tax reporting, inventory, payroll — everything a typical business needs.

2) Industry‑specific applications exist for retail, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and public sector. Each is a pre‑built configuration on the same platform.

3) Custom applications can be developed from scratch. This is where the low‑code aspect shines: you can build a custom CRM, warehouse management, or document flow system much faster than with traditional programming.

4) Integration is possible via HTTP requests, web services, and direct database access (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
