1C Server is a fundamental component of 1C platform that ensures interaction between users and the database management system in the client/server mode. Such a cluster also ensures reliable, fault-tolerant and competitive work of a great number of users with large infobases.

The 1C:Enterprise server cluster is a logical term and is a group of working processes serving the same set of infobases.
