# What happens if I'd like to pause my service?

If I need to pause my service at any point for any reason, what's the process?

Since your Smith.ai Chat account is prepaid and month-to-month, you can stop at any time — we’ll finish out the month you’ve already paid for. To stop immediately, let us know and we’ll hold off on any future responses. 

If you'd like to resume your chat service again, it's as easy as choosing a plan and emailing us to let us know you're interested in continuing your service.  We’ll start back up right where we left off.
