Depending on your system and the features you allow: patient's can request and / or schedule appointments (you can control what types of appointments can be scheduled and limit which providers they can schedule appointments with as well), request prescription refills, see the medications that are currently prescribed, see their office visit history and obtain office visit notes (if allowed ), update their demographic information, make payments, view/access handouts, send messages to the office with questions, receive notificates and notes thru the secure portal from the office. As an administrator you can control what patient's have access.
