Lightspeed is a software and hardware solution for Retail POS systems and ecommerce sites. It is similar to Shopify or Magento but with a totally integrated POS so the retail half can do inventory in store with connected scanner devices, and to sell using iPads, cash drawers and registers, While web development can be developed externally from the store, but developers can simultaneously build out the products information in POS. It is extremely efficient as opposed to an inventory integration on top of an e-commerce platform because POS and eCom are so well integrated. This example is for their Retail POS but they also have a restaurant specific solution.

Lightspeed implements, hosts and supports cloud-based Lightspeed Retail (in-store) and Lightspeed eCommerce (online) software that a small business can use to sell products in-store, design a web site, offer products for sale on the web site - while managing all Inventory centrally and universally between the two platforms. Lightspeed Payments represents a credit card processing engine for both platforms and serves as a 1-2 business day clearing house for credit payments to be paid-out to the merchant's bank account.
