It's important to be clear if you are looking for project management software, portfolio management software, or both.

It's hard to find a single solution that does a good job at both project and portfolio management, so my recommendation is to find the best project management tool and integrate it with the best portfolio management tool for your organization.

The key is usability - you want to find a solution that people like using. Easy to use solutions will get more user adoption, otherwise you risk a failed implementation.

Project management software often includes the following capabilities: Project planning and scheduling, Task management, Team collaboration, Project reporting, Resource management, Document management, Time tracking, Project budgeting

Portfolio Management software often includes the following capabilities: Project and Portfolio Tracking, Work Intake, Strategic Roadmapping, Dashboard and Reports, Prioritization, Resource Capacity Planning, Time Tracking, Financial Tracking
