As mentioned in the previous comment the pay is typically done via a choice of literary hundreds of gift card options. Some studies, although rare will lay via prepaid credit card or even PayPal. With regards to amounts it can vary anywhere between $10+$500 depending on the type and length of study.

User interviews is one of the best apps I have ever participated in. 90 9% of the time you are giving your own choice of what gift card you would like and that's how they pay you through an e-gift card.
